Default Apple Ipod question

I scored a ipod video (used) for my kid is there some free software to sync music from my windows media player? or should it just recognize it when plugged in?


thanks for any help iam just trying to get the info before christmas.

Unless something has changed real recently, you have to use itunes to load any ipod.

If you download the latest version of iTunes, you should be able to import your Windows Media files from the folder where they are located directly into iTunes. Then you can sync the files to your iPod.

No.

As a matter if fact, when you download the latest version of iTunes, it should ask you if you want to import your Windows Media audio files into your iTunes library.
