"CARACAS (Reuters) - Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez said on Wednesday CNN may have been instigating his murder when the U.S. TV network showed a photograph of him with a label underneath that read "Who killed him?"" ""I want the state prosecutor to look into bringing a suit against CNN for instigating murder in Venezuela," he said. "... undoubtedly it is part of the psychological warfare." The anti-U.S. president often denounces plots to kill him without providing much detailed evidence. On Tuesday, he said a sniper trained his gun on him at a political rally this month." who's got a ticket to crazy town? he does. |

If you happen to be a Venezuelan, it's probably a good time to head for the exits.

Chavez just cut all ties with Columbia. He is very hot headed leader who we need to thwart as much as possible.

I agree he is unstable and in the end will lead his country to ruin. The good news if that if Brazils oil find is true we can buy from them instead of Chavez.

I'll tell you the biggest difference. Bush can only make 8 yrs of mistakes. Chavez is consolidating power and eliminating opposition groups. He is re-writing the constitution to allow himself to stay in power for the rest of his life. Chavez after 10-15 years in power will have ruined all investment in his country and left them with nothing because he is so anti-capitalist.

Dim Son might have only had eight years, but the damage he has done to America's economy and to our standing in the world will take generations to repair. He managed to stack the courts with right-wing activist/extremist judges who enjoy lifetime appointments. Quote:
BTW, have you ever noticed how the only "evil dictators" in the world who show up on right-wing radar are the ones who have oil? Bush supporters = oil company puppets. |

It's no wonder LABF is Chavez' "cabana boy" on the OM... The two of them have the same mental health "issues"...

![]() These chumps can't see the wood for the trees. They fulminate over Chavez' antipathy toward America without any comprehension or acknowledgment of the extent to which the Mad Cowboy's policies have elicited such animosity. The court-selected pinhead repeatedly pokes one hornets' nest after another (at the behest of his globalist and oil industry benefactors) and his supporters can't understand why the hornets get pissed off. The only "evil dictators" who show up on their radar are the ones with oil! |

Errr, ahhh...
LABF, Ro is also someone who doesn't go all moony-eyed over Chavez. He's a left-winger, too. How do you explain Ro? |

![]() My feeling on the subject is much like Ron Paul's; Why should we give a ****? Why should we get involved in South American politics? What do we have to fear? Let socialist dictatorships operate in the same marketplace of ideas as free societies and let's see who wins over the long haul. Hell, when Fidel finally kicks it the Cubans will wake up to find themselves fifty years in the past. "Yeah, my health care is free but I'm driving a '53 Belair." Are the Bushies still operating under the paranoia of the Cold War? Do they fear the unchecked spread of Castro-style socialism in Latin America? (It ain't communism, BTW) That's the difference between the Bushies and the Ron Pauls of the world; We believe that the idea of freedom sells itself and doesn't require force to predominate in the market of ideas. You'll notice Chavez hasn't severed Citgo's ties with the U.S. Why? Because Venezuelan crude is heavy, at the bottom rung in quality, and the U.S. has the only refineries that can deal with it. In fact, if we had somebody in the WH with half a brain cell operating, we could have raised the CAFE standards long ago and told Chavez to go shove it with his heavy crude.
