Happy Thanksgiving day, everyone!

I am thankful for my family and great friends!! I truly feel blessed to have such great people surrounding me!! I've learned to never take them for granted!

Hope everyone has a great day with those they love surrounding them! And if not, give 'em a call and tell them how much they mean to you!

Being Scottish and my inlaws being Scottish, Thanksgiving never really meant much as my family is my wife here. Not one American relation. But today my wife and Brother inlaw and a couple of buddies are gonna drink beer, watch football, eat a big turkey dinner and give thanks that for all that makes us happy and that we live in this wonderful country!

You can't get more American then Turkey/Beer/Football/Family/Friends. It's great to hear that you are trying some of our traditions. So what's better Turkey or Haggis?

I started a new tradition this year. I went out and bought a pumpkin especially for the purpose of making pumkin pie. I gutted it, cooked it, peeled it, pureed it, and turned out 8 fresh pumpkin pies. We then went out and delivered them to friends and relatives.

We, of course, enjoyed a couple of our own slices after turkey.

Happy Thanksgiving everybody!

So how did the pies turn out?

I'm not a big fan of pumpkin pie my self, but I would be in favor of baking several and taking them to close friends, neighbors, and so on. I could do that with apple pies as that seems to be our specialty.

At any rate, Turkey Day was awesome for us. A bunch of boring football games but enough family and friends to make football a muted side show.
