Default Meck77 (and fellow Maners) pictured in Rocky Mountain News

Tuesday's Denver Rocky Mountain News pumped up the publicity for Meck77 and captured a raging Tailgate on film. Meck77 is of course trying to keep government hands off the lot he owns just south of Invesco Click Here to learn about Meck77's battle. Like I mentioned in another thread, Meck77 is a publicity magnet ... two ESPN crews separately shot bumper video there, Channel 2 interviewed Meck, and here .... on Page 8 of the Rocky, partying in front of the venerable OrangeForce1, several O-Maners were caught in various stages of inebriation:

Meck77 (Gothic) - In the foreground of course
RaidersSuck - over Meck's right shoulder, short hair and shades
NateDogg - behind RaidersSuck, wearing orange Atwater throwback sweater
No1BroncosFan - over Meck's left shoulder in orange cap and throwback blue Starter jacket
Arthur - BroncoBuff's nephew, in black ball cap and sweater, far right
BroncoBuff - Front of bus in Daniel Graham jersey, with the sun shining over his shoulder (of course...)

Meck,

I recommend you do the improvements now to show that the RTD that there can be a compromise btwn what they want and your needs to make highest and best use for your project. Go get an civil engineer to draft up a successful scenario btwn your project and the RTD's (maybe a firm that has been involved with the light rail project) - check your public records. If you don't, there will be no 'sight' on their part and definitely no compromise. If you make a public display of 'how you attempted to compromise' and then take it to every media source in town you will gain much more public support which always gets the attention of the politicians.

It has happened 4 times here in Nevada when they widened the freeways and then for the monorail system - they will not compromise with people who are 'uncooperative'. I know, I have completed some of the appraisals on homes that were ceased. No one is happy about it! Eminent Domain sux especially when it's for a failure of a public transportation system.

Just my take.

RTD is such a freaking joke. If you wanna talk about the most inefficient joke of a public transportation system, talk all about RTD. Denver needs mass transit but RTD seems hell bent on making things hard for everyone. Utter morons, high on their endless supply of money from the public...

Yes, they should just make real estate appear out of thin air, that or build it where the land is, so out in Kiowa, that or I will piss and moan that they shouldn't use eminent domain but they should bring mass transit to the people!!!

Trying to make mass transit out of mayhem is a long drawn out process. We may some fruits made in the next 60 years.
