Vick Surrenders Early To Serve Sentence

UPDATED: 2:57 pm EST November 19, 2007
RICHMOND, Va. -- CBS 46 has learned that Falcons quarterback Michael Vick has voluntarily surrendered to federal authorities to begin serving his sentence after pleading guilty to dogfighting.

Vick was scheduled to be sentenced Dec. 10.

Courthouse sources told the Richmond Times-Dispatch that Vick was transported from the U.S. Courthouse downtown to one of the regional jails where federal prisoners are housed before 1:30 p.m Atlanta time.

Vick pled guilty to one count of conspiracy dealing with dogfighting allegations in Surry County, Va., earlier this year. Monday's order, signed by Judge Henry Hudson, says the order is not handed down because of a bond violation, but because Vick is interested in beginning his incarceration early.

Vick also faces state charges in Surry County, Va., where he ran a dogfighting operation out of a home he owned.

Too bad they aren't allowed to serve him road-kill dog meat.

He could barely leave his house anyway, so what the hell. Vick sure did f his life up over dog-fighting. He must have really loved dog-fighting. He was probably one of the kids in the neighborhood that caught stray kittens and saw how far he could hit them with a baseball bat. Then never grew out of it.

I still wanna know how long this guy is gonna be behind bars...

....and it better be for a LOOONG time.

on the bright side, that article had a link to another article saying that FORTY EIGHT of the pitbulls would be placed, and had a nice picture of a few of them playing on the grass.
very good news indeed, 'cause God knows it wasnt those dogs' fault this happened.

Actually Norv Turner was a big reason they didn't draft him at the time.

How ironic... saved by Norv then but now he's burying the team.
