Default Buy or Sell:Selvin Young

Is it just me or does it seem like not too many people are sold on Young yet. I think he is going to put up Clinton Portis numbers for us because he has done nothing but impress when he has gotten his chances. His vision is incredible he has a special talent when it comes to finding cutback lanes. Right now i would actually put him right with Marshall as far as talent level. Mabey thats just me though.

It just seems like he knows how to make plays. Anytime the ball is in his hands he has a chance to do somthing special. He does a great job of making people miss and still shows a very impressive ability to break tackles not to mention he is very solid in pass protection. He is the most balanced back we have had in some time i think he could be a special player.

So do you guys Buy or Sell Selvin Young as the future at RB for the Denver Broncos?

Who's not sold on Young? That's a good KC run defense Selvin butchered for over 100 yards. I think we have a good future at RB if we all we do is go with Selvin Young and Andre Hall.

I'd buy. His cutback vision is amazing and he has done nothing but impress in both the passing game and pass blocking responsibilities.

Ive been nothing but impressed with this kid. His vision, his quickness, his instincts, his intelligence, his will to play, and his ability to make something out of nothing. Everything about him has impressed me. I cant wait to see him play more.

Buy me in on Selvin.

I really, really wanted Mike Bell to pan out but somehow it didn't happen. He lacked a little power, a little endurance, and just enough of "it."

Selvin isn't perfect, but I really like how hard he plays. We haven't had a speedster like him since Portis. It would be a thing of beauty to see a multi-touchdown game again from one of our RB's. I think Selvin can be the real deal if he stays healthy.

Another thought about yesterday's game. A healthy Travis Henry would not have gotten the yards that Selvin got. He created many of those runs by his cutback ability, field vision, and raw speed. If Henry was in, I bet he would have followed the blocks (jam ups) a little more and had several stops for a loss. Selvin really made some of those runs completely on his own. That's a huge difference for this team.

As long as he can hold on to the ball I'm buying. He has very nice vision and hits the hole quickly. My only complaint about Selvin at this point is his tatum bell-like size. He seems to small and slight to gut out tough yards in the 4th quarter. If he could put on 15-20 pounds without losing too much speed I'd say he'd be the complete package.

All this being said, if he's the guy I'd like to see a 230ish pound back with a bit of niftiness to get 1 and 2 yard runs inside added to the roster. Jacob Hester maybe?

Heh, I just realized that Travis Henry IS that back, if we want him back this year. Let's keep this game going. Buy or sell: Travis Henry to be on the Denver Broncos roster next year (with or without a suspension.)

Please ask a buy or sell question after answering a question.

I buy but not as THE guy. I like him a lot but I think we need to bring in someone else too, if it means an upgrade.

I'm not sold on Selvin, Brandon or even Jay as of yet. Yes, we've seen some good things...and they all look like they can be good and have a future in a Broncos uniform...but "sold"...I'm taking the wait and see how it pans out approach. I do like Selvin's style and attitude, though!

I'm not sold on him, considering half of his 100 yards came on two carries. That means, 18 of his other carries went for 50 yards. Maybe it'll come in time. He has skill, but we'll see.

I am sold on Cutler and Marshall. I think both are going to be very good (maybe great) players if as they continue to mature.

I am still skeptical that S. Young could carry the load, but he's been exciting to watch this year. In a few ways he reminds me of a poor man's LT (no, I'm not even hinting in the same class). He has good vision, the ability to split wide and double as a WR, plus he seems to be pretty good in pass protection.

Buy. But I worry about his ability to get the tough 3rd and 1 yards between the tackles. I love how he breaks it outside though. He runs hard (someone said he resembles of Olandis Gary), but he needs to bulk up.

I've been buying since I first saw him play. Great vision, explosive burst, runs hard.. IMO he's the future.

You can pretty much say that about all backs that get 100+ yards in a game. there are usually a handful of bigs runs mixed in with the 3, 4 and 5 yard runs.

Buy for sure. Yes he needs to hold onto that ball sometimes. He had a great block, where he came across the field to pick up his block as Cutler ran. Hopefully he can get that breakaway speed when he gets in the open field.

I'm not sold, I would like to see him rotated more. I don't think he is a ride like a horse back, like TD, MA, or even Portis. They need a tag team in the backfield, or even just a 3rd down back.

Still not completely sold on him yet - has earned a legit shot tho. I'm not a fan of Travis Henry in a Broncos uniform yet - he's not the same runner as he was in years past.

I was/am a big Mike Bell fan but he's not on Shanny's good side so we'll probably never see him again.

I say give Selvin a shot at making me eat crow.
