Shanny must have told him he was NEXT, if he didn't pick it up.
He did well today. We'll see if he returns to form. |

He had a very good game. KEEP IT UP! Nice hit late in the game.
I thought it was funny, he almost over ran the nice pass defense that he made. |

I was shocked when even I noticed Ian had a great game.
(still want him replaced by DJ next year and to draft a new MLB). |

Gold had a really good game today, if he keeps this up I wouldn't mind him sticking around.

I really don't think DJ can beat him out at weak-side.

I've been one of the guys saying that Ian should be cut by next season, but damn he played well today. With heart and he tackled pretty well. Coverage was about as good as it gets. Lets just hold off until the end of the season. Maybe we keep him and get a FA LB or draft one to compete for the job next season. Hes been a ghost most of the season. Thats the kind of play we need from him every week.

I somehow missed this thread. Gold did a much better job at tackling and started to get back to the player I knew he could be.

I love the conformist and follow the popular opinion mentality this board has going. I love how because of this, you can only find Ian Gold bashing here. Why? Because he's the best LB we've sported on the field every Sunday since Al Wilson week 10, 2006.

Gold and Webster did a good job in large part to the D-Line occupying blocks and allowed them the freedom to go make plays. Ian will always be as good as the D-line is. If he is allowed to use his speed, and not busy getting off of blocks the man can play above average.

One good game does not a "valued contributor" make, especially at a playmaker position like Will LB. As far as I'm concened, any thread called the Ian Gold "Appreciation Thread" should look like this:
