17.
![]() Denver Broncos -- Gaines Adams, DE, Clemson Original pick: Jarvis Moss, DE, Florida Moss was drafted as a developmental prospect and the team must be pleased with his relative success to this point, but Adams has similar production thus far for the Buccaneers and his upside is considerably greater, which is why he was selected No. 4 overall back in April. But with Adams still on the board in our scenario he looks like a nice fit. DT Brandon Mebane is also a consideration as he has started quickly in Seattle and the Broncos are dismal against the run. 56. Denver Broncos -- Clifton Ryan, DT, Michigan State DE Tim Crowder has shown some promise in limited action but the Broncos need more help inside, and Ryan has been surprisingly productive playing in a rotation for the Rams. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/column...=ESPNHeadlines |

I dont see how McShay can say Adams has greater upside when Moss is at least as athletic and has never been all the way back from his staph infection. Moss is 6'6 and is as fast. He just hasnt had the bulk because of the staph infection so how does McShay really know what Moss' ceiling is. It seems he has more room for progress than Adams. As a matter of fact, Adams was more of the finished product and that why he was drafted higher. Does this not make sense to anyone else? I think were looking at an E!SPN moment of empty statements.

Regardless of the flaws in the author's logic....it does make for an interesting debate. If both Adams and Moss are available at their slot, who do the Broncos select? Obviously, back in April, Adams would've been the slam-dunk choice. Today?

Lawrence Timmons OLB Justin Harrell DT Jarvis Moss They were taken in that order and per Shanahan once the first two were taken, they moved up to nab Moss to make sure they didn't lose one of their targets. Not being able to land Timmons has killed us. Stupid Pittsburgh doesn't even use him and he's a 4-3 Will linebacker so he doesn't fit their scheme. Had they picked someone who suited their scheme we wouldn't have used a third to move up and probably would have used our second third on Thomas. That would mean we'd still have a third this year. The Steelers screwed everything up by taking him. I'm glad we beat them. |

The only reason Gaines Adams wasn't a "target" was because everyone knew he was going in the top 5 and there's no way he'd be available at their slot.
In this new "fictional" scenario, however, he is available to the Broncos. Do you think they take him, or do they stick with the Moss pick? |

NFL DE's have a lot more to learn about technique, film study, and execution. He has been slow to learn but not worthless on the field like Jamal Anderson in ATL, despite what McShay has said. No sacks in 8 starts and very little pressure as well. |
