Ok, lets keep the meltdowns to this thread. Theories about caoching, playcalling, injuries... kepp it here and the 'Mane might actually function today.
Long shot of the day goes to me. |

We're ****. No other way to sum it up really. We might have played better with Cutler in there but we'd still have lost and lost ugly.

Obviously the injuries hurt but other things do as well, inconsistent pass rush (outside of Elvis), shady linebacking play and no range with the aging safeties.
And on offense, lack of execution inside the red zone and inadequate O-line protection. Right now, this is not a very good team, its below average. |

I bought a Bronco banner this year on my anual Denver home opener game. I put it up in the garage when we got home and we have only won one game since. Maybe I need to take it down?

I'd hold a firesale on most things Denver. This team needs a spark... some life... lots of leadership.
I'm still fine with Shanahan. He seriously needs to shake up his coaching staff on the offensive side of the ball. With Bates, I've seen Miami and I know what he's done in Green Bay. His system works... we do not have the guys to run it though. QB: I think we are set at QB. Even with Ramsey, I still feel better with him back there than most others. Cutler will be great if we put players around him. We have a running offensive line protecting a passing QB. We don't have enough talent at WR. HB: I would remove Henry right now. We are delaying Young's growth for a guy that can't keep his D!ck in his pants and won't stop smoking. Treat him like Tampa Bay treated Keyshawn Johnson a few years back. Just get him off the field. We need to completely stop signing players like this. Its the bottom line. WR: Our WR's aren't good enough. We are either too old, too injured or not talented enough. Any time a guy who didn't even make our team coming out of training camp gets signed in the season and takes over as our 3rd WR, there is a problem. This is the case with Glenn Martinez. Hopefully Javon can come back and hopefully Brandon Marshall will grow up. I like Stokely but I think he is maybe a one or two year option at best. We need long term plans in case Brandon gets suspended for something stupid or Javon is never healthy again. TE: I feel good about Scheff with Cutler... Graham never needs to complain about not catching balls again... even when they hit him in the hands he still doesn't catch them. I'm tired of his drops and honestly... if this keeps up we might want and need to cut our losses. We have 4/5 mill a season going to a one dimensional TE when we have holes on the OL, DL, LB, S and WR. Not very good money management. Maybe he'll turn it around in the 2nd half of the season though. OL: I'm not going to run down Myers or Kuper. They've had a rough debut... some good things, some bad things. The problem is we went out and got a throwing QB and we have a run blocking OLine. A few of the guys are swing players that can pass block like Lepsis and Nalen previously. Other guys cannot though. Erik Pears would not be starting anywhere else in the league IMO. He gave up one first quarter sack this week after getting killed by Kampman last week. If I was KC, I would move Jared Allen from RDE to LDE for this game just for that matchup. We are playing with four OLinemen in the passing game. Less when the other players mess up. We need somebody at RT who is competent. We need a future player at LT. Where is Ryan Harris? Hopefully he is good. We should take a exorbitant amount of money and try to get the Colts O-Line coach. Seriously. They can run and pass block. We need to learn how to do that. DE: I think we are good with Crowder, Elvis, and Moss. Engleberger sucks ass. I can't believe he's still on the roster. Hopefully we can bring Ekuban back next season as he is a free agent. I would be good with those four on the frontline for us. Rice is a MERC. Just another jersey and a paycheck. He should be gone. DT: Thomas is developing at the 3 tech. He's made some plays. The 1 technique shaded over the center has completely sucked all year. I watched a couple plays against Detroit where Antwan Burton totally left his gap and we gave up huge runs. Adams is a merc. He doesn't care what uniform he wears anymore as long as he gets a paycheck. See Simeon Rice. Amon Gordon is a joke at the 1. BASICALLY WE HAVE A HUGE F'N HOLE here and until we get some talent to play this position we are going to give up 100 yd game after 100 yd game. Although I don't agree with some of the players we have at LB, they can only cover so much ground. Not the amount that our DLine has been giving up. LB: Webster was never meant to be a starter. He can't run a disciplined attack on the field. He has no concept of responsibilities. Therefore the hole's created by the crappy DT play is magnified tremendously. Ian Gold has lost whatever skills he used to have. DJ Williams has talent, definitely some heart playing injured. More than most in this front 7. We really need to put him at Will and not worry about that position any more. Secondary: We're old at safety and lack range. As for our CB's, Bly and Bailey are good. I don't know why we didn't lock these guys up on the opposing teams best receiver this past game. Instead we have Paymah and Foxworth covering Calvin Johnson and Roy Williams? That is a fundamental coaching flaw. As for those two guys... wasn't Foxworth just talking about waiting for his payday? He'll keep waiting after a weak game against Detroit. He just is an average player. The problem though is of all of our issues, this is the one that we can afford to look at the least. Issues going into the offseason: 1. Get Cutler protection. 2. Get Cutler tools. 3. Get Bates players. 4. Cut out the worthless players that have no reason being here. Travis Henry, Simeon Rice, Sam Adams, Webster, and Gold. All of those guys should be gone. Lets do a clean sweep. Shanahan has to understand that there is no quick fix this time around... no one FA is going to change what has gone on with this team. 5. Recruit leadership. We don't have much. And the one's we do have are old. Is Rod still a captain? 6. Re-evaluate character issues in free agents/draftees. That means you people hoping to sign Albert Haynesworth in the offseason need to get the f' out. No more inate character frauds. My determination is guys that will smoke out, drink and drive, not full-fill responsibilities and/or will quit or laugh on the field when we are getting pounded 44-0. We need to make football ability #1 on our list of things to look at vs. athletic ability or 40 time, ect. Prepare for the long haul, this team is bad. Might as well start over fresh. |

San Diego game taught us all nothing compared to this gutless beat down...this is lower than low and it seems we have no answers...just more excuses and lame arse injuries to guys who are actually trying.

Elvis is the definition of inconsistency. His name was called twice today, once on his sack that was nullifed by a facemask (should not have been a 15-yarder), and again when Duckett drug him into the endzone. He's been invisible in a ton of games over his two seasons, including both Indy games. He shows up in spurts, he's not a consistent threat yet.

I wish you hadn't said that. Any time someone says it can't get any worse it always does. Just to counter act that I have to point out that it could have been the silver and black or red and gold that put that 44-7 on us. That would have been worse.

I do believe this poor play will continue. We do have some injuries but to be honest, looking back, I don't think we were that good even when those who are missing were healthy. I was optimistic through 5 games into the season but have since opened my eyes. We're 2 last second FG's and a timeout from 0-8. Think about it.
At least we will be drafting very very high next year. I would try to trade off some of the old vets (Lynch, Fergy, Gold, Rice, Adams) if anybody will take them, for picks........... like right now. Hopefully we can add some good talent. Being honest here, I don't think we win 7 games this season. I see us going 3-5 the second half too. The quality of play is just that bad right now. |

BS. Never ever give up the wins for a freakin' draft pick that you don't even know will make the team. |

Biggest issue this team needs to fix now is shorter pass routes...get the frickin ball out of Cutlers hand faster. 3 step drops. Dink and dunk...we got recievers that can get yards for themselves. And I figured out why marshall says he's baby TO...hes got hands like TO and drops even more passes. |
