Radiers waived WR Mike Williams.
Williams was thrown-in with Josh McCown for the Raiders' fourth round draft pick, but had been inconsistant all season. He dropped a key pass on fourth-and-14 in Week 8, and that was apparently the last string. Journeyman Tim Dwight was signed to replace him. |

Mike Williams probably had more underserved pre-draft hype than anyone ever has or ever will... Kinda' funny to watch this play out.

I still wonder if there would have been any difference had he been permitted to enter the draft in 2004 and not have to wait another year until 2005. Returning to USC and staying in game shape for a year might have helped him as well. He was a man among boys in college.

It's crazy to see these can't miss guys bomb out. Judgeing talent is an under rated skill.

Yikes...I forgot all about him. That sucks. At this point it's hard to believe that he'll make it anywhere.

Have fun in Canada, Mike. Maybe you can go back to doing your one handed TD catches up there. It will be impressive to do that in Canada after youve been cut by every team to cross your path in the NFL. Tscuss.

Somebody will sign him. One injury and he will be brought in. Hell, we could be one away ourselves. I think Mike lost it losing the one year of eligibility.

I say we go after him. What harm can it cause? He's probably better than Glenn Martinez and Brian Clark.

I wonder if he could play TE? Not the typical blocking TE, but a Shannon Sharpe type H-Back.

Mike Williams made some sick catches this year...I wouldn't mind to test him out with Jay Cutler.

Man, some Arena team could look damn intimidating if they'd only sign Mike Williams, Charles Rogers, and Marcus Nash.

Damn. Mike Williams was the one holding the Raiders back. The rest of the West need to fear the Raiders from here on out!

Have to admit, I was pulling for him to be a success in the pro level after being screwed by the NCAA. His story is unfortunately a pretty sad one. Here's to hoping he can find success again on the field.
