Best part of that video is the referee calling the pass incomplete when he had no fricking idea if Rice was inbounds or not. What an idiot, flapping his arms in the roach position.

The ref was still upright when Rice caught the ball, and Rice was clearly out. From the looks of the video, I'd say that the ref had a perfect view of the play, and he made the right call. Props to the ref for standing in there long enough to see the play.

Rice looked out of bounds to me, the ref looked funny in the ground.

I like how they badmouth that fan and say it makes everyone else look bad but most fans probably approve of the guy throwing the snowball. It helped us win. Plus, whoever that was who threw the snowball had a great arm. It was more impressive than anything.

Right before the 49ers-Broncos preseason game this year, I went to a Peninsula area grocery store sporting my Denver gear and the guy working at the counter brought up this play from his memory bank. HA!

I was at the game too. There were a number of snowball being thrown. The one seen on the video had some serious arm behind it. In one respect, it was wrong by the fans but it was Montana and the 49ers. It wasn't difficult to not let it bother me.

I have that game on DVD. What you don't see there is that the FG with the snowball was in the 3rd quarter not a game winning kick, and in fact the 49ers had every reason to win this game until a late Elway drive to win the game. On that drive Elway made an amazing escape of Ronnie Lott on a blitz up the middle to set up a game winning FG.

Dave it wasn't 3rd quarter. it was actually right before the half.

I do agree that people have taken this legend beyond it it's truth though. Many do think it was a final play type thing.

Matt Cavanaugh blew it, the snowball was close but he should have held onto the ball.

The Broncos D was great that night. That may have been Joe Montana's worst statistical performance ever.

Looks like a snowball was thrown at the Referee on the ground too.

Okay so knowing the 'characters' in this forum, who would you hypothetically suspect the 'thrower' to be if we supposed that it happened to be someone inside the forum?

I would say bob but realizes his mistake when it was his own team kicking the FG.
