Default Which Team has the best chance to finish UNDEFEATED?

There's just 5 unbeaten teams left. Whichever can stay unbeaten will be #1 (other than Hawaii). Choose:
OHIO STATE - Still have to play pretty good Wisconson, Illinois and Michigan teams.
ARIZONA STATE - Don't be surprised they beat Cal, they're good. Oregon, UCLA, USC and Arizona finish schedule.
KANSAS - Nebraska, Okla St., Iowa St., and Thanksgiving Saturday showdown vs. Missouri
HAWAII - Highly doubtful: Fresno State, Boise State and Washington are left to play.
BOSTON COLLEGE Florida St., Maryland, Clemson, Miami left. No real powerhouses, but can they sweep all four?

I chose Kansas, but I think they'd follow it up with a loss to Oklahoma in the Big XII title game .... I could see Oklahoma vs. Oregon in the Nat'l Ch-ship game.

Prollem with Ohio State is that their loss - to whichever opponent - will come too late in the season to rebound. I know the BCS doesn't grade down for when the losses happen, but they use the other polls to help them rank the teams ... and a loss to Michigan late will really hurt them there. Oklahoma's one loss was early enough that I predict they'll ride the Big XII Title game win over unbeaten Kansas right into the Nat'l Championship game

Ohio State since they have the fewest games remaining and no championship game, but I think everybody is going to lose at least one game. None of those teams have a cakewalk schedule from here on out.

Yeah right! Are you crazy? Granted they are all having down years, but there's not one easy game left on Boston College's schedule. Ralph Friedgen's Maryland squad has always been a thorn in the side in the ACC. Nobody ever likes playing the Terps. Let's not forget these are the same Eagles that let Army hang around for three quarters and played a tight game with lower division U-Mass.

"Cake' only in that the perennial powers left on their schedule are having downs years. BC is the last team on that list I would choose. (Hawaii is last actually because they cannot possibly beat Boise State, Fresno State and the UW Huskies all three. They might even LOSE all three).

And LB52 ... I wasn't counting conference championship games, though I prolly should have. OSU is very, very lucky there. But I doubt they'll run the table. Illinois, Wisconsin and Michigan are all pretty good.

I don't think any of them will. Hawaii should have the easiest road but I can see them losing twice down the stretch.

Ohio State is tough man, they just don't beat themselves. I do however think this is the year Michigan will knock them off.

What a fun year this season would be to have a playoff: 16 team playoff set, 12 automatic bids counting ND if they are in the top 10 in either poll and a requirement that automatic bids include a mandatory prereq ranking or amount of wins. All other seeds then at large if not claimed.

1. Ohio State (Big Ten)
2. BC (ACC)
3. LSU (SEC)
4. Oregon (Pac 10)
5. OU (Big 12)
6. WVA (Big East)
7. Hawaii (Wac)
8. BYU (MWC)
9. Troy (SUNBELT)
----------------------
All other mandatory seeds waived from MAC/Conference USA and Independants because representitives did not meet requirements.

10. At large (ASU)
11. At large (Kansas)
12. At large (UGA)
13. At large (Michigan)
14. At large (WF)
15. At large (Mizzou)
16. At large (USC)

-----------
USC at Ohio State
Troy at BYU
-----------
UGA at OU
Michigan at Oregon
-----------
KU at WVA
Wake at LSU
-----------
ASU at Hawaii
Mizzou at BC
-----------

Basically what the playoffs could look like. Imagine how sweet some of these matchups would be.

My prefered system seeds the eight highest ranked conference champions in an eight-team playoff. You *must* be the conference champ to qualify, no wild cards! Therefore, everything gets settled on the field and the BCS ranking is only there for seeding.

It is too early to declare conference champs (some of the highest ranked don't even have the best W-L in their conference right now) but if the highest ranked teams were to all be conference champs, it would look like this (using 10/28 rankings):

8. BYU at 1. Ohio St.
7. Hawaii at 2. Boston College
6. West Virginia at 3. LSU
5. Oklahoma at 4. Arizona St.

First round games are held at the higher seed's home stadium im mid-December. The semi-finals are held during the New Years week and the National Championship would be held in mid-January, allowing two weeks in between games for healing, finals and holidays.

One plus to this system is that a "minor" conference is assured of at least one seat at the table, two if they are both ranked higher than Notre Dame. The conferences themselves would settle any conference ties to declare their representative in the playoffs.

If you went strictly by W-L at this point, you would have Kansas and UConn ahead of Oklahoma and West Virginia while Michigan and Alabama are tied with their higher-ranked conference foes.

Ohio State WILL win out, Arizona St. will lose to USC, something will happen to trip up BC. The Bucks will either play Oklahoma or LSU for the title. another FLA loss really hurt LSU's chances to leap up to #2. If they beat a 3 loss team in their championship game will it carry as much weight as a OU win over a possible undefeated Kansas? If BC doesn't win out there is no way they will be allowed to stay ahead of a SEC or Big 12 team.

I know, but honestly I was more worried about the Penn St game than our trip to Ann Arbor, the crowd and atmosphere is much tougher in Happy Valley than that state up north. I think our LBs will be more than enough to contain Juice Williams and with the Badgers they need to generate a pass rush up the middle of the field to help prevent them from going deep after setting up the run and getting 8 in the box. I will be the first one to say that our schedule wasn't the most challenging this year but it happens all the time. Next years OSU schedule will make up for this year.

You do realize that as of last weeks rankings OSU had a tougher reg season schedule than 7 of the top 10 teams. This is according to strength of schedule of course.

I'd love for there to be 2 unbeaten teams left at the end of the season, with Hawaii being one of them. That would be quite the quandry. Do you pit the two undefeated teams together even if one of them is Hawaii? The meltdown would be completely entertaining...

I donīt blame you for your schedule. However, if you do go undefeated, I just expect and ask you to make the title game an interesting one or Iīll be pissed. Florida wonīt be there so you just might have a chance.

, I'm already running down scenarios in my head. Michigan of course will be playing the Bucks for a Rose Bowl, if OSU loses they are out of any BCS bowl cause of the conference loss Michigan will go to Pasadena and the Bucks will go elsewhere. Oklahoma will have to get by Kansas to make the title game, and I might have said that would be a gimmie if CU hadn't beaten the Sooners. SC is done, Cal is done, AzSt or Oregon need to run the table to have a shot, LSU will get in by running the table and winning the conference title game, but if they lost to a 3 loss FLA team in that game it would be hard for them to make the case. If BC finishes unbeaten of course they will go, Hawaii could go unbeaten and still at best get a Fiesta just like Boise St. did a year ago.

Personally I would like to see and I think would be the most entertaining would be.

I can't wait to see the five idiots who picked Boston College get proven wrong. The Eagles losing is money in the bag. I would bet the house on it.

I am boycotting your poll because NDSU is not on the list. Just because NDSU is in the FCS and is not playoff eligible you all hate on us.

Actually am joking, I hope no one ends the season undefeated. I like to see what will happen with the BCS then. I think that 1 loss teams are all good. And its more fun right now.
