Default Travis Henry nutswingers - are you THAT impressed with him thus far?

He's a pounding type tailback but to be honest, I don't see anything special with him considering our system. Just doesn't seem to be the player everyone thought he would be here so.....

Is it nagging injuries?
O-Line injuries?
Off-field troubles in his head?

Any ideas why he looks sluggish, mediocre, etc....

Of course, this is my opinion and you may not agree.

I thought he looked fine. Lets not forget, Pitt has a great defense. Maybe the best in the NFL.

Pittsburgh has a very good run stopping D and I'm sure Henry isn't playing with a carefree mind.

That said, I wouldn't mind getting the chance to void that contract if it was possible without having to lose him in the middle of this season. Given a year of experience under their belts I think Young and Hall could give us a very good rushing tandem, with Young being the feature back.

I CAN NOT cheer for this loser. Sorry, I know he's a Bronco, for now, but I feel like when Dale Carter played for Denver, very ashamed at times. I'll be happy when he goes away and Denver finds their next 1000 yard rusher, hopefully Selvin.

He's on borrowed time, as such, I'd pound the living snot out of him before his suspension comes down.

i think henry is the real seal and could have been great here. just cant be excited for a guy who is an idiot and is going to be suspended. our 1st year with no 1000 yard rusher because of it

Against a run-tough Pittsburgh defense, Broncos running back Travis Henry managed just 51 yards on 17 carries. Henry's last carry came with 41 seconds left in the third quarter. He was stopped for no gain on the Pittsburgh 1 and left with badly bruised ribs.

Henry's status for the Green Bay game on Monday night won't be known until later in the week.

"I fell on it wrong," Henry said, wincing while he walked. "I think I'll be all right."

I have been very impressed with his running abilities. He had a tough game last night, but it happens. They played a tough team, and the Broncos have injuries on the O line. But overall, Henry has been worth the money. Sucks that he'll be gone pretty soon.

According to Wabbit he has a very badly sprained ankle that would need a couple weeks rest to get healed.

I think Henry is great, but unfortunately he's a loser who is going to be out for a year. Scrub.

Henry gets tough yards, which is something that we havent had here in a long time. Anderson would do it, but he wasnt nearly as proficient with getting the extra yard or three in traffic. Henry is a good player here. it's just too bad that he cant make smart decisions off of the field.

The great thing was that he wasn't an essential component in our offense last night. He will be gone in a couple weeks, and we will move on. I really believe he has helped us move the chains in an important way, but I have no problem switching to Young and Hall. I think Hall could still turn out to be a huge sleeper as well. He should know he doesn't get too many shots to make a starting roster in the NFL. I would really like to see Selvin become a receicing back as well. We haven't had a back in a while that could catch a pass out of the backfield and swing it quickly like he could.

We will miss Henry the player when he's gone, but I sure won't miss the person.

Henry's a good back, like wabbit said has a gimpy ankle......guy just made a poor, poor choice off the field. But as far as on the field goes, he is a pretty good damn RB.

He is not a game breaker but he continually gets positive yardage even when he is stopped in the backfield. He is a chain mover, makes me miss Terrell when he would brake one and take it to the house.

Sorry guys - I didn't mean just the Pitt game, I was referring to season long so far.

Personally, I liked the pickup don't get me wrong but I expected to see a little more out of him so far. I watched all of the Titans games last year (The Ticket) and he seemed a bit quicker, little more burst, more 'pop' thru the hole.

Just gauging your opinions on it. The nutswinger reference is because some on here believe he is/was the be all end all of running backs for us - I honestly thought/still think that Mike Bell would have been serviceable for us.

Cheering for a guy and bobbing up and down on a guys manpole are two different things.

Maybe you should go back and read some of the threads when we got or were interested in getting Henry.

You'll change your tune - unless you were all over his manpole - then I can understand your post better.

I'm of the opinion that he could have been one of the greatest backs to ever play here. He's just so goddamn stupid as a human being that I can't wait for him to leave.

Oline just isnt the same. Contrary to belief, that line needs more fixing than people realize.

I try not to get too giddy about anyone, but I don't remember any over the top worship from anyone. Of course I was rooting for Mike Bell and may not have paid attention.

I believe Wabbit said he has a chronic knee & ankle problem going on that would require at least a couple of weeks to get better, but he doesnt or prolly wont have that much time left. I dont approve of his off field antics and I think he probably put himself before the team. But the guy is a hard runner and is the style that we need . He sure doesnt go down by a shoelace tackle like a previous Rb we had.
