For those going to the game, it's going to be chilly and snow is likely. Probably won't be like the snowfall Denver got in 1997 of October.

Sweet! I love steeler football in the snowy cold. All FB games should be outdoors in cold weather.

It's 55 here, raining and we haven't had a hard freeze at night yet. Not at all bad for North Dakota in October!

You are insufferable. You really make in laugh. Not in a HAHA way, more of I feel sorry for you way.
Is there any circumstance, weather, players, injures, game time, anything in the world were you would say "favors Denver"? You really should seek the help of a trained psychologist. You really don't need to be a miserable person. Go ahead and attack me, it will make you feel good about yourself for a couple of hours. When you are in bed tonight you can think about what an ass you made out of me. But when you wake up you will still be miserable. |

Actually, this could be good. I mean, our run defense isn't getting any better, but if it's snowing, wouldn't that slow Willie Parker down a bit? Maybe wishful thinking, but it seems like a speed guy might be slowed.

I say bring out the orange...we could use a little better bad luck with this team! Bad luck from years previous just might be okay for this team.

The storm models are not agreeing on this next storm very much. So it could turn out that its just colder and windy. I seriously doubt it snows though during the game. The overnight low is 31 and that usually happens around 4am.

Just got up here and there is snow on my car. It's headed Denvers way. Not a big deal but I've heard that another, bigger storm is to hit here Saturday and that's probably what will be there Sunday.

On the other hand, a team who can't tackle will only find it more difficult to do so with precipitation...

Well there are about 3 different ones and each has sub models. One is showing a very slow moving cut off low. That is the typical storm producer that tracks across the NM/CO border and spins energy our way. The other is showing a cutoff low that will move out of here quickly and only give us a few hours of rain/snow mix. The third model is showing a open face trough that slides through the area with minimal impact except wind shift and temp drops. The National Weather Service right now is going with the cut off low and fast moving. But when they update around 1500 that could change. Its funny to read their reports because in a matter of hours they can contradict what they said earlier.
Here is the latest for this weekend from the NWS: NEXT FEATURE TO FOCUS ON WILL BE THE TROUGH THAT WILL MOVE ACROSS COLORADO THIS WEEKEND. WHILE THE GFS AND NAM ARE MORE PROGRESSIVE... THE 00Z ECMWF HELD STRONG WITH ITS DEEPER SOLUTION. THERE IS A CONSIDERABLE AMOUNT OF JET ENERGY STREAMING ACROSS THE PACIFIC SO OBVIOUSLY CANT RULE OUT A STRONGER TROUGH. EVEN SOME OF THE GFS ENSEMBLES HAD THIS SYSTEM CARVING OUT A DEEPER TROUGH. NO MATTER WHAT THE DEPTH...THIS TROUGH SEEMS TO BE CARRYING THE COLDEST AIR OF THE SEASON AND THERE WOULD BE A PERIOD OF CONSIDERABLE Q-G VERTICAL MOTION. FOR THIS REASON WILL GO WITH A CHANCE OF RAIN...AND YES...ADD THE SNOW WORD FOR THE LOWER ELEVATIONS INCLUDING DENVER LATE SATURDAY NIGHT INTO SUNDAY. AFTER THIS SYSTEM...THE WEATHER PATTERN SEEMS TO SETTLE DOWN A BIT WITH RIDGING AND WARMING BY THE MIDDLE OF NEXT WEEK. Last edited by theAPAOps5; 10-18-2007 at 11:37 AM.. |
