Default We WILL score a First Quarter Touchdown

Obviously the San Diego game was an abysmal low for the franchise, but the sky is NOT falling. Especially not on offense. Our skill people there are EXCELLENT, Shanny still gameplans beautifully, and we have the extra week. Plus I think the two young Chrises - Myers and Kuper - will play very well. It's sports legend how teams rise to the occassion when team leaders are injured - at least at first.

I've been right about a whole lotta stuff the past couple months, so I'll shoot another out, right here on the board:
We WILL score a first-quarter touchdown on offense.

I agree 100% they wont be able to shut out our offense this week. The only question is how many first quarter touchdowns are we gonna give up to Parker

Smart thing you don´t say WHEN the first quarter TD is gonna come. Could be Sunday or in 5 years.

Jens - good point, I am a lawyer after all. No, THIS WEEK VS. PITTSBURGH! It's a small stretch, even for my exuberant offensive optimism, but I'll stand with it.

If the Steelers get the ball first, there is about a 5% chance the Broncos score an opening drive TD. Given that the Steelers will probably be able to chew up as much clock as they like on the ground, the Broncos will probably have only one drive in the first quarter....unless they receive the opening kickoff, in which case they'll likely have two shots at it. I'd then give them a 10% chance of scoring an opening drive TD.

We'll be fine against the steelers. They are not as good as their record indicates but their running game is great. this will be a close game. Just saying, 14-17, 17-20 is what I'm thinking. NO blow outs, no let downs this week.

Not trash talking at all... But, there is a great possibility that the Steelers could pitch a shutout this week... Nalen is out you have new people on the Oline... a weak defense and a Young QB who has never seen a Defense like Blitzburgh. Combine this with a Run oriented ball control team like the steelers and your final score could be 27 - 0

So are you saying that the jag and chuggers were as good as their records indicate I hope to see improvement, but time will tell.

We'll drive all the way down only to get another field goal...Parker goes for over 200 with 2 TD's.

NO, just pitt. The chargers were going to get going eventually. As much as we all hoped Norv would find a way to waste all that talent, it's just not goign to happen. They ain't winning the SB but they will have a winning record. Jacksonville is proving to be a good team and they matched up very well against the broncos.

I Think we go 1 and 1 over these next 2 big home games. I just gotta believe that enough got done over the 2 weeks to see some improvment in some area of the game. O,D, or ST, I don;t care just show an improvement.

At least GB might be as bad at running the ball as we are at stopping the run.

This game will define this team. either they come out to play or they crawl into a hole for rest of year. Fact is we need to win to stay out of cellar. I will give them a pass if we lose only by 3 and not 38 this week.

Shanahan has a good record coming out of a Bye. Hopefully this is the week we start turning things around.

I still have high hopes for the O. The potential is certainly there. I'm getting tired of the dinky stuff from the passing O. I wonder if Cutler has an injury.

I'll be happy if the Broncos hold Parker below 200 yards.
Heck, I'll be estatic if the Steelers have a combined total of below 150 yards rushing.

Well said, I'd settle for some spirited effort and showing improvement at this point. To date, they've shown NEITHER...dman

Baby steps Buff.

Lets instead hope for some heart first. Yeah. Id rather see some heart out there on the field. If we are indeed a bad team, we can at least show some god damn dignity out there and fight in them.

The offense is just not as good as you people think it is. Our QB sucks. Our wide receiver thinks he has the right to call the fans bandwagoners. Our running back is busy knocking up nappy headed hoes in between bong hits for breakfast, our tight end cant catch a ball right in his hands, our center is done for the year, our right gaurd is done for the year, we have like zero depth now on the o-line, and we have no balls in the red zone.

Adding insult to injury, our defense is missing the "D" and DJ might be smarter than a brick, but not by much. Champ is hurt, Lynch is old, Bly is overrated and other than Dumervile we are worthless up front.

With all that, really all we have left to hope for is that those scrubs go out there and play with some heart.

Well, I guess we have to look on the bright side then...We are going to get better. It's just a question of when, and who will still be here when it happens.

I love the Broncos...but for now they need some "tough love". Coddling them or drinking more of the "we are only one or two players away", kool-aid will only prolong the bad times. I think the offense has a great core group, but the Defense is a certified disaster right now. Other than CB we are really bad there.

In a way, Bowlen and Shanny are lucky the Rockies are making a run right now. If they weren't, more people would be paying attention to the Broncos, and the criticism would be more apparent in the media. But the Rockies are giving the media a Feel Good story to talk about instead.

I don't think Bowlen will pay much attention...but that Monday night game might if there are a lot of empty seats (doubtful!).

I think a few vets and a lot of the younger players are really trying.....and I hope the coaches see what most fans do...lack of effort on the part of others.

I hate to see Elam get hurt by us overworking him. We all know how injury prone he is.We might have to go with kicker by commitee to keep Elam rested through the season.
