Default T.O. Will Only Communicate With the Media Via the Written Word

Well this is one way to protect him from himself..

HAHA

And it begins: Patriots-Cowboys week. That's right, people, it's the GAME OF THE CENTURY. Or something. Anyway, as we're bombarded with non-stop coverage for the next 96 or so hours, Terrell Owens is taking a new media strategy. Instead of actually talking, he's turned to passing out statements. Here's what he left for reporters who came looking for him Wednesday:

"Dear Reporters,

Due to the magnitude of this week's game and high volume of questions for the Original 81 about the other 81. I will be taking all questions immediately following Sunday's game.

"Sincerely,

Terrell Owens

p.s. Getcha Popcorn Ready.

Consider popcorn gotchen. And in case you didn't pick up on T.O.'s clever wordplay, the "other 81" is Randy Moss. You know, the guy who's currently tied for the league lead in touchdown receptions and catches 81 percent of the passes thrown in his direction (Owens has a catch percentage of 45 ... behind All Pros Roddy White and Dennis Northcutt).

Cowboys tight end Jason Witten was a little more measured in his comments:

"I think he's pretty focused. We don't want to give them any bulletin-board material," tight end Jason Witten said. "There's enough said. We all know what the challenge is. ... He's staying focused. He's anxious, excited about the challenge."

Sunday will be interesting. Owens looked like he was on the verge of a Philly-style meltdown during the closing moments of Monday night's game. Thank God for Nick Folk, I guess. And if the Cowboys lose to the Pats -- and more important, T.O. struggles -- I suspect he won't be talking to the media after the game. Maybe he'll write a note.

Probably the Patriots. After all, Wade Phillips is now coaching the Cowboys,
so there is that Broncos connection.

I personally don't care bout the funky Patriots OR filthy Cowboys.

TO did this for a little air time. After all, no one's talked about him much for awhile. So the sports media will act like this is so entertaining, and we should all be on the edge of our seats WONDERING WHAT TO WILL DO NEXT.

Bah. Sell it to Chris Berman, he'll eat it up.
