Default Talked to someone in the know

some things from my conversation

1.) Champ is getting very tired of run support, starting to call out people. getting irritated with webster.
2.) DJ is not football smart, strong suit is less responcibility and players know it.
3.) Jay seems to function better with scheff in the line up. Seems happier and more talkative, I guess scheff brings in out in him.
4.) adams is wearing out his welcome, blames everyone but himself.

take it for what it's worth, nothing.

None of this is surprising. Especially not about DJ. I've said that several times. Its probably why he played well at the WILL and not other positions. Too much for him to do. He just needs to be a dogg chasing a bone. We would be smart to let him and see if he fits at all on our roster.

I would try to offer NYJ straight up, DJ for Vilma. They want more size from their 3-4 LB's, we want an instinctive guy who can play and size isn't a big deal.

Vilma does hate the 3-4...

But here's the issue. DJ has an option-out after the 07 season. He's going to be a free agent.

No one will trade for a freeagent to be.

Since Vilma was drafted the same year, his contract might be similiar... might

You can see it after every play.

This has been clear for two years.

This is good and bad. Good that he has some connection, bad that it hampers him when Sheff isnt there.

Isn't his opt out after '08?

His current contract runs through '09, I doubt there's an opt out with two years left, thats a lot of prorated money to have accelerate against the cap.

If the opt out is after next season that'd make a potential trade more likely since he and the new team can just start over with a new deal.

I doubt DJ carries much value on the market though. I guess maybe Vilma, who's struggling himself, but DJ isn't the hot young commodity of a few years ago. Shifting to sam and not getting much action on passing downs has stunted his growth as well as his numbers.

Id take a box of peanuts for DJ at this point. The box could probably stop the run better than dipstick anyway.

All I can find is he is under contract untill 2009 free agency. Not sure if he has any option to escape.

DJ just needs to return to the WLB position and things will be better with him. Some people just aren't cut out to be the leaders and Shanahan/Bates/Slowik shouldn't force it on him...

Just going with what Socal told me. He's the Bronco/Hurricane expert.

Bad decisions by the coaches here boys...or we just misjudged 'gametime no-shows' disguised as 'training camp mvps'. Regardless, trust in the Broncos management to make it right.

It's obviously all Coyer's fault.

I just think Jay trusts him to catch and get open in the middle of the field. I can't blame him, their on-field chemistry has been amazing. WHY go against the grain on it and leave Nate Jackson on the field? A guy that has no upside what-so-ever. Put our 2nd rounder out there and let him flourish into a Jason Witten type TE. It seems like a no-brain decision to me but us Broncos, fans, love to make it harder on ourselves than it needs to be.

I would imagine that Jay understands a couple of completions to tony on seem routes and then the recievers will open up bigtime, it really opens up the field when you can do that, see antonio gates.

Yes but then Scheff would no longer be a "tight"-end and more like a "Wide"-receiver!

Actually, HEAV it is one more season, just 2008. The 2009 year is voidable.

Did the research. It is voided in 09. So one year remaining... so a trade could be done.

Either that or another year at middle linebacker.
