Default Selvin Young

So with the possible impending loss of Henry, do you think it's likely we'll see more of Selvin Young today than we have during the first month?

Like most folks around here I've been impressed with the kid, and he's a part of the reason I'm not freaking out about the idea of losing Henry. I didn't pay much attention to Young in college, but thought he was more of a skat back when I first saw film. From what I've seen thus far, he's anything but. He runs with a lot more power than I expected.

He's shown good vision, nice feet in the hole, very good speed, and a willingness to deliver a blow. Most importantly though is that he seems to read the field well, and has shown the ability to pick up the blitz better than most young backs we've had in recent years.

I would expect we'll see more of a 50/50 split in carries this week, unless Shanahan just decides to give the kid the ball and put Henry right in the dog house without waiting for the suspension to be levied.

Thoughts?

One one hand, he's gonna be MAJOR fun to watch ... his durability and health are the only question marks.

On the other hand, Tatum Bell started out just like this four years ago ... remember? He exploded on the scene at first, and played through a painful shoulder separation. Turned out of course, that he head ZERO "banger" skills, and is gone.

Time will tell if Young is a Tatum or a Terrell. Probably somewhere in between.

Mike Bell should be the #2 RB ... Hall behind Young us just too green, and Bell showed - at the very least - that he has a nose for the end zone. Something we really need right now.

Give me a ****ing break. If he accomplishes half of what Tatum did in a Broncos uniform, he'll be a success. Not that Tatum accomplished that much, but we are talking about an undrafted, unproven, unknown rookie. He isn't the second coming of Barry Sanders, no matter how much you prop him up as being just that.

According to every fantasy football geek he's worth owning. I tried to pick him up on both of my teams about an hour after the news about Henrey was released and he was already picked up in both leagues.

Am I the only one finding it very odd that Mike Bell hasn't been mentioned more in relation to this?

No. Mike Bell isn't very good. Great vision in the body of a fullback that tires easily.
