Default If Gore Was In, He'd Win

At least in New Hampshire

I think this really points out how mediocre the Dem field is. Gore is pulling down 7% in Iowa without even running. These numbers are going to climb. IMO, the failure of the Dem leaders to categorically state that they would pull out of Iraq by 2013 set off the San Andreas Fault of political upheaval in the Dem party. There will be a backlash. It will probably first be felt in New Hampshire. If Gore threw his hat in the ring, Clinton would sink like a stone.

I don't think your theory is completely accurate. Gore wasn't a "pull the troops out of Iraq" candidate in 2004 and there's no evidence he would lobby for that, now. However, the "grass is greener on the other side of the fence" theory is similar to the time before Fred Thompson officially entered the Republican race. People aren't seeing many natural leaders in this race and are playing the "what if" game.

Once Gore started talking, his numbers would plummet. NOt really a fair assessment.

Gore beat Bush in the popular vote, but he isn't the candidate for anybody who wants a massive troop pullout in late January. That's all I'm saying...

I don't see why not. As far as I remember, Gore was the first person I heard speak out, in the middle of all those crazy war drums Bush and Cheney were beating across the country, and say that he was against the war in Iraq.

Of course this is just one poll. If you do an average, Hillary is still crushing
everyone else in New Hampshire and is on a definite upwards trend.

And nationally.

http://www.pollster.com/AUSTopDems.php

And is even trending upwards in Iowa.

Most of Hillary's core support is from women and AAs.
I don't see them abandoning Hillary for yet another white man.

I could support Gore. I heard a report he supports nuclear power -=- but I checked his book -- and I don't think it's true.

He is not a perfect candidate, But if Ron Paul fails to become a contender I could support Gore.

You will also be pleased to know that Hillary Clinton said she did not support
nuclear power - at least until the issues of cost and the disposal of nuclear
waste were resolved. This is something I disagree with her on though,
I feel nuclear power will go a long way toward getting us off foreign
oil and cutting down on greenhouse gases.

A Gore/Obama ticket would be unstoppable.

Sounds good to me. But then any of the Democrats running sound
better than any of the Republicans, except Ron Paul, and even
he has some things I don't agree with. Of course Ron Paul is
really a libertarian, so I don't really consider him a Republican.

Gore as president sounds terrible to me. But I do think that he and Obama would be nearly unstoppable together.

And Ron Paul is a life long Republican. He never left the Republican party when he was asked to run on the Libertarian party ticket. Libertianism is a philosophy before it's a political party.
