Default My first Broncos game ever, and i was dissapointed by lack of fan enthusiasm...

this was the first Broncos game i ever attended in person, and i had a blast despite the loss!!! I was all the way up in the last row in section 540, but the view of the field was incredible!!!

I was jumping up and down screaming like a maniac, ( i came up with a new nickname for Sam Adams, the "Meat Man") and this couple looked at me like i was insane.

Hey, does this look like a golf tournament? its freaking Broncos football man!!! Get the hell up out of your seats and cheer your lungs out!!!!

I was kind of disappointed by the lack of fan enthusiasm, even early on in the game. i was expecting more..

My question to the season ticket holders or regular game-attendies...

Is it always like this? I mean, even in the early part of the game when the outcome was yet to be decided, there were fans that were just sitting there with their arms folded up. i really found this odd. Where is the passion man? the fire? the love for Broncos football? I was up there going nuts!!!!

I completely agree with the p***Yness of the fans lately. With the exception of the big plays in crunch the crowd seems weak. The next time someone screams "down in front" on 3rd down the cops might have to drag me out of there. The other thing that annoys the **** out of me is when the crowd has finally got rowdy and then some stupid gimic comes on the jumbotron and kills it.

It's not the same as the old mile high. I don't know what it is with the fans. Alot of them just sit on their asses and only cheer when the plays are made.

and a lot of them cheer when they shouldn't (i.e. when the Broncos are in the redzone on offense).

Everytime Ive been to a game it's pretty rowdy. Today, though, it wasn't as much other than a few occasions. Just one of those days where the team or the crowd was at full force.

It's because Bronco management values dollars over fan loyalty. Many dedicated Bronco fans can't afford the high ticket prices of today and the Broncos seem to value corporate seats over joe fan seats.

Man people left during the 3rd Quarter. My section starting chanting p***Y fans, p***Y fans. It was funny. I usually sit in the club level, my father in-law has his season tickets there so I have no choice. Half the time you hear some lady with prada gossiping rather than watching. Then when you jump up and down and scream they get all upset. The old mile high was definately a different beast. The stadium got louds a few times today though.

Long sustained drives just kill crowds.

I know there are a lot of people who feel like Invesco isn't a great stadium, the fans aren't great, etc. We can get into the wine and cheese thing all over again.

But, the Jaguars had the ball for like, the whole first half. It's a let down when you see them convert play after play.

I thought the crowd was rocking.. there where points when we had J-ville was pushed to third down that the place was as loud as I've heard.

Of course, after they continued to just beat the hell out of our team it became harder and harder to cheer. But I couldn't disagree more about the lack of fan enthusiasm... the momentum swing in the second half (as short lived as it was) was absolutely loud.

It was loud enough last week for the Raiders not to hear the timeout

yea, there were a few moments where you could literally feel the place shaking (which was incredible!!!), but overall, i was just disappointed. I thought fans would be standing the majority of the game, screaming out their lungs. Maybe it was the section I was sitting in, but comon, the higher up you go, the rowdier the people should be.

Maybe my expectations were too high...

Literally, there were many fans just sitting there doing NOTHING when the defense actually did something.

Like i said earlier, even when the outcome was far from being decided, people were just sitting there, only standing up during big plays. There were people not even stamping their feet or getting up to cheer when we needed crowd noise.

But they couldnt damper my mood. I had a blast. cant for my next game!!!(hopefully its a win!!!)

Last week against the Raiduds numerous "fans" were leaving at the end of regulation before the overtime started.
I just don't get it!

Yep, I was restless today and I got the feeling most of the crowd was too. If deep down people don't think the defense can make a stop, they're not going to be into it as much.

I've said it before and I'll continue to say it, those who have this romantic notion that Mile High was rocking and something just changed when they moved to Invesco are sorely mistaken. Mile High was not that loud in '99 and '00.

Well, maybe your right. However, when your opponents have the god damn ball for 11 minutes and run 15(ish) plays, and the noise you were making had no impact at all on the drive, how the hell can you stay enthusiastic

It would help if the Broncos showed enthusiasm on the field instead of being lackluster and looking past the jaguars. Trap game, hope its the last one.

How many 3rd downs did they convert? A person gets tired after awhile and when the D can't stop 'em.

The 11 minute plus drive the Jags had in the first qtr took the steam out of the crowd, just as it did the defense.
Invesco isn't as rowdy as Mile Hi, but I wonder if that's not true all over the NFL .........whenever a stadium is renovated and club levels are added.
There are times when Invesco is deafening, but repeatedly watching teams complete a large % of 3rd downs will quieten any crowd.
It would be helpful if the some of crowd behind the end zone knew not to cheer when our offense has the ball. Cost us a valuable time out.

let's face it, the place ain't as rockin' as it was in the old days. why would you expect it to be when relatively few give up their tickets over the years? those folks who own the seats in the prime sections, or any other, have had them since the 70's or at least 80's and have grown older. turnover is less than in other markets. while the new stadium may contribute to the problem, the greying of the populace could be the real cause for the lack of decibels. just a thought from someone who saw the ernest byner fumble from the top row of the south stands.
