Default Congratulations to Jay Cutler: You are now a winning Quarterback

He is now officially 4-3 all time! And what a way to get there! Against a tough defense he brought his team from behind in the fourth quarter to win yet again in the clutch! I think that the number on the left will continue to climb in what will be a long and great career here.

Yes, he had that tipped pass batted at the line. He needs to work on that. He also fumbled a snap and threw that obvious Int. The sack for a safety was not a great move either. However, when we needed to move in and tie and eventually win the game, Cutler came through just like last week. Awesome start to the year and he's playing better and better. Here's to Cutler's 7th game (man it was a lucky one!).

I would like to add that Elway is no longer the winningest QB all time, but we did officially take away Oakland's record of being the only team in the NFL to have a winning road record. They are now at .500.

Congrats to Jay. He's got mountains of work to do, though. I'm not even sure who our QB coach is, but he needs to start doing his job.

Jay has MVP potential... but dude is getting into some seriously bad habits that need to be corrected. Talent won't ever be his problem. OBVIOUSLY, he's young. But, THIS is when you correct things like throwing off your back foot and locking eyes with receivers.

Let's not let this guy end up like our last QB... 10 years into his career, trying to fix habits someone should have taught him 9 years earlier.

Every Denver QB with more than 5 starts under Shanny has a winning record

I agree but this is only game 7. Patience for a while. I remember a number of JE throws that I was wondering who he was throwing to. Along with a number of 3 Int games that he somehow turned it on within the last 5 minutes to win the game. Patience.

Jay is on a crash course right now.

Mike is calling his number to pass even in tough, pressure situations as if tyring to condense three seasons worth of experience into the next few games.

Anyone else remember Shanahan asking Griese or Plummer to pass the ball so much over a two game span in close games?

For only starting his 7th game the kid is playing great.

Very true. He needs time to figure this stuff out. I just hope they're working on these issues with him, and not just assuming he'll be the next Elway because he's got talent.

Exactly. 7 games into his career and Shanahan is already asking the guy to shoulder this much of the offense? Yeah. it's only gonna help and he's gonna be hella scary come year 3.

Jay does have his rough spots, but he's also making plays out there.

Yeah. I think we'll see more of these growing pains as the year goes on. He'll get a little better each game and still do some things that show he needs to learn. The real growth will be after next offseason when they break down every throw he's made and then rep the offense in OTA's and training camp. I think by this time next year he'll have established himself as one of the best in the league.

Feild position plays a huge role too. Jay was in horrendous FP all day, and got himself out of it on a couple occasions. Other times..well not so good. If we got a half decent punt returner that didnt FC on the 7 twice a game, JC may have better luck.

This game detailed a lot of our weakness so whatever else can be taken from this is a blueprint on what to do to beat the Broncos. If they don't fix the problems on Special Teams and FAST they are leaving themselves wide open for a team with skills. Lamont Jordan goes for a walk in the park? LJ and LT are going to have field days if we dont' start stopping some of these running backs.

We don't want to become the Bengals. Carson Palmer puts up 400 plus yard day and in a lost to Cleveland 45-51? Ouch!

The Raiders are not scared of us. We need to fix that next time.

Here's what I saw and heard today. That first pass he hit Stokley with It almost looked like the ball caught Stokley. I heard that pass from 5 sections up when it hit stokley's hands. WOW

One of our biggest problems today was getting jobbed by the officals. When they finally called holding on the Raiders late everybody in the stands were stunned and awed. Sometimes the ball doesn't bounce your way and this time we won inspite of it.

2-0 with a patchwork offensive line aint bad. Is Lepsis hurting still?
Of course we want JC to look off more, and he will.
The guy is money late in the fourth.

True. I was cursing Shanahan several times today.....much to the disappointment of my 12 year old......because he kept calling passes in obvious running situations. That 3rd and 2 pass to Selvin (in first OT drive) was a disaster. Why not just QBsneak? If the wimpy Tom Brady can do it against the chuggers, how about the rook weightlifting monster against the duhs?

It should also be noted that Jay lost his first 2 starts as a pro.....so he now has 4 wins in his last 5 starts. If it were not for the defensive collapse against San Fran.....he'd have 5 consecutive wins now.....

Well I think him getting concussed didn't help either. I'd bet that if Cutler is allowed to play that whole game we might have won. The defense was toast, though.

Good defense? Maybe last year. This year crappy ass Detroit hung 31 on them. And that defense we faced in Buffalo? That monster defense allowed ****tsburgh to hang 26 on em.

We should be clobbering these guys. We arent.

Ah hell....since it's a Cutler thread....

He is now 3rd in the league in passing yardage, behind only Manning and Palmer.

We have #1 offense in terms of yards. Heck, let's give props to T-Hank....he now leads the league in rushing yards, too.....and Javon is 5th in receiving yards....
