Default We Have a #2 WR Finally

I haven't seen a thread for it so I thought I'd give Brandon Marshall some love for this past weeks play. 5 catches for 52 yards and a Touchdown was awesome. I also liked the way he blocked downfield and helped the running game. That one play where he just layed the guy out made me flash back to the Eddie Mac pancake block during our SB victory against GB. I think with Marshall we finally have a solid #2 and it will be fun to watch him grow week to week.

Suddenly nobody is complaining about our WR core. Marshall still isn't completely proven, but I think it's safe to say he's going to be a stud. And with Stokely healthy, we've got a great 1 2 3 punch at WR.

Completely agree if we can keep them all active and get Rod back later in the year for the strech run I really like our WRs.

His ability to tip-toe the sidelines (TD week 1, catch against CIN last year) is something Cris Carter would smile about.

Marshall is going to be real good this year. He has great hands. Marshall is not getting the respect that he deserved

I said prior to the season that Marshall would catch 60 passes. I just hope he can stay healthy because if he does we have a very nice weapon, especially in the red zone.

How is he "not getting the respect? In my book, that has to be earned. We really haven't see him play all that much yet due to injury...and he was in Shanny's doghouse wasn't he? He'll get my respect...when he earns it. That being said, I think he'll be a good WR for the Broncos.

if marshall and stokley live up to the promise and expectations, does that make rod odd man out?

Seriously.....it's only been one game, but it is really nice not hearing anything from the "give up everything to draft Calvin Johnson/sign Keyshawn/sign [insert all other available WRs this summer] because we only have one proven WR" crowd.

People seem to think that they wouldn't be able to keep that many WRs on the roster that don't play special teams, but I'd argue that we don't have anyone at any position playing special teams currently.....so no big deal.

It's a pretty sad state of affairs when you have to add your best CB to special teams!...

Brandon Marshall will be a star in this league; that is a given fact. After seeing him play last year, its just too obvious. Barring injury, he will be a probowler very soon.

Stokley can benefit from Walker and Marshall like he did with the Colts. Wayne and Harrison would be killing you and when you buckle down and focus on them Stokely catches a 25 yard inside post. Now if we can utilize a our tightends effectively, the passing game will be great.

i never felt that the receiving corps was going to be weak... so long as Marshall and Sheff and Stokely recovered from their injuries. Sheff gives the threat of another WR out there. Marshall is legit, Graham will prove to be handy in some tough spots, we all know about javon.

i would amend the title to say that finally we have a #3 reciever, one of the most dangerous slot receivers in recent memory.

Amen to that .....!!! Stokley always gets open and always catches the ball.. Some of those passes to Stokley by Jay were picture perfect and its obvious they have great chemistry ... or maybe Stokley is just where he is supposed to be ... he runs great routes! :-)

We have three bonafide starting WR's. Cutler is going to have a field day as the game continues to slow down for him and he gets all his ducks in a row!! And he hasn't really even brought in the TE factor yet.

Personally I want Rod to retire so when he is fifty he isn't walking around like Earl Campbell. I honestly don't think Rod will play again.

No one has mentioned Rod.

Dont forget that he'll find a spot in the rotation when he returns.

When was the last time that we weren't saying "if we only had a good 3rd receiver."? It seems like every year our #3 guy is someone who was on the bubble to make the team a couple weeks before. I don't know if the defense will stay in the top 5 all year, but the offense is a legit top 3-5 in the league and I'd be surprised if they slipped much further than that throughout the year.

No it isn't, lots of teams put their best DBs on special teams. Coincidentally, these are also the teams that have the best special teams in the league. See how that works?
