Every KO, Every punt return, every FG... we run onto the field rushed, half crazed, bordering on mass chaos yelling 'TORO'.
Sure, we'd resemble the colts on crack.... but it just might work. ? |

We'd have to have almost zero time on the clock and be behind by 2 pts.

maybe we should just squib kick everything on kickoffs, and punt the ball out of bounds. Whatever happened to the ole angle ball out of bounds so they can't return it. Is it just me or do punters mostly suck nowdays?

I'm just going to have to suit up and blast who ever has the ball. I'll be on the next flight to Denver.

I always thought that Colts thing was dumb. Why run from a huddle? It just gives everyone an extra ten to twenty yards to run. And it isn't like the momentum from starting from a run really helps, like it would in a regular play (a la the Canadian Football League, or the Arena Football League). There aren't opposing players for ten yards, anyway. And a tackle won't be made for at least fifty yards.
I loved the year we played them on Monday night football, where they came out doing that little dance thing prior to the kickoffs. We ended up pounding them. They weren't doing the stupid dance thing at the end of the game. |

I have some real answers.
1. Don't play the second best special teams unit in the country on Sunday. 2. Give Scott O'Brien more than one game and some of camp to fix what was the worst special teams unit in the country when he got here. 3. Run onto the field rushed, half crazed, bordering on mass chaos yelling 'TORO' ![]() |

Lets limit our ST coverage to kick offs only and acquire a kicker that kicks out of the EZ every kick off. Of course this would mean no more three and outs.

I know everyone is bangin' on our special teams, and alot of the criticism is warrented...but.....
When it mattered most, the Broncos executed that field goal to perfection.... The Bills ?Two costly mistakes -- 1. False start on the Field Goal try right before halftime. 5-Yard penalty forces Buffalo offense back onto the field resulting in the Dumervil INT. 2. Fair-Catch interference on a punt that would have been downed at the 13 yard-line to start the Broncos final drive. As a result, the Bills repunt and the Broncos gain 21 yards of field position to the 34. The converage needs to improve, but the Broncos did it right when it mattered most and the Bills did not. The story of the game. |

I say we just never punt. Go for it on every 4th down, no matter the field position or distance to go. We might turn it over on downs, but at least they don't get a chance to blast a run back through our confetti-like punt coverage. I like our O's chances better than our ST's anyway.
As far as kickoffs, if you can't kick it out of the endzone just kick it out of bounds and let them have it at the 40. I like our D's chances better than our ST's... |

I say just tell the kicker to kick it properly and the rest should take care of it self.

I cringe and hold my breath every time we kick off. How many years has this been like this now. It seems like forever. I'd be happy with just an average Special teams unit.

Give it some time. This kind of disaster isn't fixed right away. When Scott O'Brien came onto the team he literally told his players "Forget everything you've taught about special teams" and has begun rebuilding the scheme and the squad from the ground up. An overhaul of that depth is one that takes longer but has a chance to last much longer and with time become more elite. After a few games of watching tape from real games and observing players progress, we'll start to see some real improvement. We just need some patience.
