The coverage stunk, and Elam missed two kicks, but I think Sauerbrun looked as bad as anyone out there. Yeah, he had a 56 yard boot in crunch time when we needed it, but he also served up that nice line drive to give Roscoe P. a running start en route to his td, and he didn't have the leg to get a single touchback for us. I almost feel bad now saying all those things about
Ernster. Sauerbrun Kicks = 4 Touchbacks = 0 Bills' yards per kickoff return = 28.0 Last edited by crowebomber; 09-10-2007 at 04:47 PM.. Reason: like to edit |

The lack of touchbacks were disappointing.
A 41 yard average is nothing to write home about, either. The guy got the ball down for the win but special teams, as a whole, gets better or costs us a game, maybe two. |

Truth! I used to cringe that he's our holder, I actually liked having Plummer there, just nice to have someone athletic, to keep the other team worried about a trick play, but after that clutch hold I'll never speak ill of him. Even without my glasses on I noticed on one of the many replays the perfectly straight, laces out placement, beauty!

I thought Sauerbrun had a good game ... at least one KO went to the 2.

Neither "miss" was due to a bad hold. One was actually a bad snap that he managed to bring down and give Elam a chance. The other was a 50 yarder. No blame can be assigned to him for that.
And let's not forget, this is a guy that can reach well into or even through the endzone on kickoffs in both Mile High and at sea level (see the San Fran game from this preseason). Buffalo is arguably the toughest place he will be punting in all season long and he still came through with a killer punt when it was needed late in the game..... |

This board just cannot ever be optimistic. Come on. Finding crap on the PUNTER? Enjoy the win.

You guys crazy? First of all, i dont think their kicker had a touchback either. Its not like the game was in Denver. I thought his kicks were fine. As for Parrish's return, c'mon, three broncos were right there and he split them...as for his average, many of his punts were attempts to pin them inside the 20, so its not like he was trying to boom them. He did fine, quit griping
