Default Oil Pipelines in Mexico Blown Up

Saying at least 5 pipelines were blown up.

-------------------------------------------------------
Blasts hit Mexico oil company pipelines
MEXICO CITY - Several explosions believed to the work of result of sabotage ripped apart pipelines for Mexico's state oil monopoly early Monday, the company said. There were no injuries.

The Mexican state oil monopoly Petroleos Mexicanos, or Pemex, issued a statement saying it believed the explosions, which forced the evacuation of 12,000 people, were deliberate.

A small, left-wing guerrilla group claimed to have attacked a major Pemex gas pipeline in July and at least a dozen major companies, including Honda Motor Co., Kellogg Co. and The Hershey Co., were forced to suspend or scale back operations.

The July explosions affected different sections of a major pipeline extending from central Mexico City to Guadalajara, the industry-rich capital of the western state of Jalisco.

Those attacks sent the Mexican government scrambling to increase security at "strategic installations" across Mexico. It was not clear what security measures were in place at the pipelines that exploded Monday.

Pemex said Monday's explosions affected at least five pipelines in Veracruz, but reported no deaths or injuries.

They wouldn't dare attempt something like that down there, that's one of his getaway countries when he gets chased out of here.

Nah - everyone knows the bush junta would never attack or blow something up without provocation.

The world economy is lucky that something like this hasn't happened yet in Saudi Arabia ... Bob Baer goes into this hypothetical situation in detail in his book Sleeping With the Devil. If that country's oil facilities are ever successfully attacked, the consequences on the global economy will be catastrophic.

well the saudi family & israel have a common enemy with fundy islam. But it's like a double edged blade for the saudi's. They used fundy islam to keep people focused away from the gov't and towards an outside opponant - but the backlash could happen and threaten not just the family - but as stated the world econ.

Well, the one bright side is that we wouldn't be seeing any more of this:
