Default Where was Foxy?

Does anyone know if something happened to Dominique Foxworth? I saw him make a jarring hit on a reciever early in the game, and then watch Jeff Shote get picked apart the rest of the day. I saw Foxy on the sidelines with his helmet off while the D was on the field.

I am assuming that Shote was ahead of Paymah because of the concussion, and would have played situationally, but it seemed like every big play that the Buffalo offense made, Shote was getting burned.

I also noticed our second team safeties playing a considerable amount of time. On Marshawn Lynch's TD run, the secondary consisted of Champ, Bly, Shote, Hamza and Cox. Where were Foxy, Fergy and Lynch? With how physical Foxworth played during TC, I cant imagine M. Lynch carrying him 5 yards for a TD.

The CBS broadcast was weighted pretty heavily towards the Bills, so Broncos personel changes were never talked about. They really didnt say much about the Broncos at all. A little about Cutler and Henry, and a little about Elam. I think the production team tried to even it out by putting up a bunch of stats and notes in the onscreen graphics.

I have to agree with this, I didn't really care so much, but I did get the distinct impression that the commentators were pulling for Buffalo on a few occasions. I remember wondering a couple of times if it were a home town commentator in that game because I was watching on DirecTV. I know it wasn't but it seemed like it.

The guy that isnt randy cross slipped and said "We have had issues" or something then said "I mean the Buffalo Bills". He was clearly a Bills fan and Randy Cross is no fan of the Broncos.

Cross is an idiot.

I don't know where you guys think Shoate or anone else got "picked apart". The Broncs only gave up 72 yards passing.

I think all 72 may have been to Shote's man. On any other team, he was not picked apart, but when compared to Champ and Bly...

Also, why was Lynch and Fergie playing so far back? I rarely saw Lynch up in the box to stop the run. Lynch usually is used more frequently a the "4th LB" in the box. I didnt see alot of this. And when he DID go up to blitz or stop the run, he was succesful!!! Whats up with that? And where was Fergie?? The whole game that guy was MIA.
Oh and COX and ABDULLAH look pretty bad. They are never in postion to make a play.
Thr RUN D needs serious improvement if they are going to compete with the sparklers.........of course from what i saw of the CHI/SPRK game yesterday, maybe the Broncos WONT have to worry about it too much.....haha!

Ever hear of game planning?

The safeties played off because the Bills passing attack has serious deep ball potential. Bates game planned around making the running game beat us and only allowing dink and dunk passing under duress. Worked pretty damn well, seeings how the Bills only had 184 yards.

If our special teams didn't horribly blow coverage assignments, if the offense actually finished off red zone drives, and if Elam would've made kicks more consistently we'd have watched a 35-7 drubbing and Lynch would've had ~70 yards instead of the 90 he got because the Bills would've had to start bombing it more.

Defense did a great job, largely thanks to DJ finally doing what we needed from him in the middle and Bailey/Bly being untouchable. Get used to the safeties playing back and not being terrifically involved in the run, we're going to protect Bailey and Bly so that they can make plays. However, we'll probably also see a bit more safety blitzes, primarily from Lynch and Abdullah, which could also really pay off.

We won yesterday because Bates out game planned the Bills offensive staff.

You didn't hear the announcer when Parrish ran the punt back? The guy was going off like the Bills won the Super Bowl.

Gus Johnson goes ape s--- on any big plays in football and college basketball. He is known as a bit of a homer especially if they are the underdog.

Not quite. Dude was a 49er for life. That explains why he sounds a lot smarter than he actually is.

I like Gus Johnson and felt he was pretty partial. I actually thought Randy Cross was fairly partial too and even complimented Broncos when they did some questionable things (such as Selvin batting the ball out of bounds) or Daniel Graham running back to get out of bounds when he clearly had a first down.

yes dude i've heard of game planning...........i just thought as the game went on, to get a little more pressure on MLynch and Loseman.
I did have a epiphany about mid way through the 2nd qrtr and thought to myself.. "huh, i guess this is the Jim Bates style of D!.. ok..."
yeah, this style of D that they played yesterday really put alot of emphasis on the LBs making plays. It was rusty, and at times looked kinda bad, but i could see the difference from last year. PLus, oh yeah, no AL Wilson.
Total zone for the Safeties. They were so far back they werent even in the screen shot of the game!
I just thought that the Broncos would still employ some of the tactics for Lynch like last year.

That was Jeff Shoate that Marshawn Lynch drove into the endzone - not Foxworth.

The D gave up 7 points and less than 200 yards, I'm not sure what your complaint is, I'll take that kind of D every week

He was up on at least a couple of plays. I saw him shoot through and get a tackle or an assist on one play and miss a tackle on another.
