Default Cutler IS the Franchise!!!!!

Let me start off by saying that Cutler is it.

He's the guy we've been missing all this time. The final piece of the puzzle. With Shanahan we'll always be competive, but with Cutler we can go to the dizzying heights of the NFL.

Yes he's a bit jumpy, yes he's got that young cocky arrogance that gets him in trouble at times (flip to Selvin Young, not throwing it away when multiple tacklers gathered), but in terms of pure passing brilliance he made ALL the throws necessary.

I saw ONE throw that I disagreed with and that was the long bomb in the 4th to Walker which was almost intercepted when Marshall was open on a crossing route at the fifty but I'm been picky here. He was throwing bullets accurately under pressure and most importantly, he ran long drives on his shoulders, on his back without necessarily running the ball. That quality is rare as stardust in the NFL. Because most QBs are cocky and arrogant, you have to be in the NFL. But very, very few NFL QBs have the skills to back that up. What I saw from Cutler today was genuine skill under pressure. You either have it (Cutler) or you don't (Losman).

I saw Shanahan laughing and joking with him on the sidelines even when Cutler made mistakes. I know how he feels. Even if we had lost this game I would have been laughing because finally, friends one and all, WE HAVE A QUARTERBACK!

Anyone notice he kept throwing on his back foot. Good thing he has the arm to complete those passes.

Overall, that was a great comeback.

He can really throw that football. And he made very good reads today. But a few times when we got down to the endzone, all that went out the window and he got excited on a few plays.

Also, he needs to stop shoving it down Walkers throat all day when Marshall is wide open on the other side.

i love the way Cutler utilizes Stokely and and actually GOES THROUGH PROGESSIONS!!!

Plummer was lock on Smith, lock on Putz, and then get sacked or switch to the left hand.

Cutler was spinning around, making guys miss sacks, throwing with accuracy off the back foot. Incredible. Ups and Downs, but that is to be expected. B. Marsh is a beast, T. henry is a beast, javon is a beast, Stokely is a beast...

His new nickname: Jesus Christ Jay Cutler.

PS: did anyone see Tommy Nalen just ****ing with the rookie Polusny(sp) by pushing him around after the plays? Welcome to the NFL rookie.

you saw just 1 throw you disagreed with?

hmmmmm

so you liked the shovel pass to nowhere, and the backwards pass to the otherside of the field? That was a great interception throw going into half too.

Sure he looked good on some throw, he also look bad on others.

I don't disagree with the overall assessment of Cutler, but i have to say he played a bit like jake Plummer today. there were at least two or three balls that just should not have been thrown.

Now that's a little more acceptable from a 2nd-year player in his 6th start than a 10-year vet so the comparison ends there, but there were several plays where he should have just taken the sack instead of trying to make something happen, and we very nearly paid the price.

At the end of the day we got more than double the yards they did so we should have got more than double the points, although to be fair but for a lights-out performance from the Buffalo special teams we probably would have done.

Euphoric about the win, obviously, and considering our recent history of first-day jitters a welcome turn-up, however i think we can all agree that whilst Cutler's potential continues to shine, he's not there just yet.

If we can aquire a couple more quality offensive linmen in the near future and give JC a little more protection and time, his potential will be without limits...

Nevermind that he looked a lot like Jake Plummer on no less than 5 plays, one of which damn near cost us the game except that Selvin Young is much smarter than Cutler.

I saw him throw more than one pass behind the receiver. He was way off the first half, and then half-off the second. But, we WON!

Great game.

Dude, if Jay hadn't made the last throw to set up Elam's kick... people would be roasting him alive around here.

He's going to be the 2nd best QB in franchise history. Just a matter of time. But, he's got work to do. That throwing off the back foot nonsense has to stop. Do we have a friggin' QB coach?

Jay will keep himself out of trouble with his arm strength, for now. Eventually... his mind will catch up with his physical skills. Then, it's game-on.

Right on! That was Jake-esque and of course opening day too! But, Cutler drove us not once but twice for the winning score. It is sweet to have a great line to run with and of course Javon Walker. Dude gets what looked like whip lash on a catch and still comes back to make two MVP plays. Kudos to Cutler and the whole team. Elam saved his goatness but not downing the ball to give him time I guess what to not let him think about it. And let us not forget about that stellar Lee Evans game. I think it was 2 catches for 5 yards. Good D. Lynch had one great run and was average after that. I will take it!

He has all the tools. It was only his 6th game. He will probably make young mistakes all year, but as long as he can overcome them as he did today all should be well in Broncos Country.

****. a couple of rook mistakes and ya'll are getting twitchy. What Jay did today is what Plummer never did for us.

He made 23 good throws, he evaded sacks and made plays, and most importantly he delivered on 3rd and 4th downs.

For sure, he has a lot to learn, but that's espected. He's really still a rookie.

Plummer would have sh*t his pants today and thrown his token opening day 3 ints followed up by 2 fumbles.

You said it. He's a 2nd year player, playing in his 6th game in the NFL? Yes he's trying to do too much.

But when he had time in the pocket he made throw after throw after throw, in pressure situations and throw the ball in a tight spiral right on the money.

Cutler looked nervous as hell today. He put the ball up for grabs way too many times and needs to learn to take the sack instead of running around like a chicken with his head cut off. That 'plummer pass' was hilarious.

Yeah well, the problem was that Joke Plummer looked like himself ALL THE TIME.

If our first round QB can only look like Jake just five plays per game then we've improved our QB situation ten fold (as opposed to Jake looking like a jacka$$ all the time last year).

This is the biggest difference between Cutler and Plummer. Cutler has enough physical talent to make up for his bonehead plays... Plummer, well he's retired.

This kid has the ability to be special... It's going to be fun watching Alec become a Cutler Fan.

Seriously Alec... Jump on the bandwagon, this could be fun

Cutler's performance today reminded me of the greatest QB to ever play the game when he came into the league. Fantastic throws and plays and then oh sh*t. But anyone who can't see the upside to Cutler doesn't understand the game.

Tell me when he threw the ball up for grabs? Name specific instances because I saw passes that were right on the money, in the WRs hands where only they could get it.

I remember one to Walker when Javon had to pry the ball loose and save the int.

But if you're b*tching about passes he made in the 4th then grow up. The game was on the line and Shanny called Cutler to bail us out so he was FORCED to throw those passes and the Bills KNEW IT and he still got us there.

When was the last time a Denver QB made completion after completion under pressure with the game on the line, away from home when we HAD to pass and the D knew it?

You're a real Schmuck if you believe that. Plummer wasn't great, but this game should have been over with by half-time and Plummer could have done that. Cutler made all the mistakes that we all expected him to make. Cutler came through in the end, and that's a positive to which we can all continue to believe in the future of the Broncos. Cutler is going to be very good and maybe even the best, but those flat out poorly thrown interceptions in the Red Zone, or tripping over his own feet, tossing under hand passes to nobody, or worse yet, flipping a backwards pass to nobody isn't greatestness. Yeah, Plummer did all those things, but not in one game. It's one thing for you to not like Plummer, it's another thing to be Stupid at the same time.
