I was just watching Bills/Titans game from week 3 of preseason. The linebackers really seem to over pursue and the Dends seem to crash inside a lot to try and help the small DT in run game. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Broncos have a reverse in the script for the opening drive.

I'm sure well see some reverses and fakes. That one against the Steelers last season was awesome. Maybe a double reverse? Handoff to Walker and then to Hixon?

Shanny always uses the reverse which works because we focus on the inside cutback run with all our RB's. I suspect if Travis Henry gets going we see at least 3-4 reverses each game.

He does this to force the defense to contain the backside. It has the same effect as a bootleg. Shanahan likes to make defenses have to be honest in all aspects of the game. He throws deep, he throws short he runs the stretch and he runs the Iso. He runs reverses and bootlegs. He tries to make every area of the field a possibility for attack which is why he's such a good playcaller.

You have a point, and I think this horse has been beaten around here before. But if there is a movement of the line or the other backs in one direction and the End Around goes the other way, it can be called a reverse. Literally, the ball is moved in the opposite direction from the initial play action.
But to mollify all concerned, I really don't care what it's called except "a good play." |
