Defensive linemen: The Broncos could keep 10 players here.

After the starters, rookies Jarvis Moss, Tim Crowder and Marcus Thomas will fill roles. Defensive tackle Jimmy Kennedy, who is in the rotation, will be on the roster. The team also likes versatile Alvin McKinley and second-year tackle Antwon Burton.

Kenny Peterson likely has a role, but he will be suspended for four games by the NFL for violating the league's steroid policy.

"We like what we have on the line," Broncos defensive boss Jim Bates said. "We have a lot of numbers there."

Well....the draft isn't ruined....but there is a serious crisis there, no doubt. Now if Warren doesnt make the Raiders and we lose out on that fifth too, it might reach biblical proportions.

Disappointed in Sundy and Shanny in that, as Req said, they didnt protect themselves in the deal with the Rams.

Your post wasn't what I was getting at, I'm getting at the people who are freaking out over an initial report based on people leaving the facility. Probably a decent thing to speculate over since you wouldn't expect someone who made the team to be leaving, but we've already seen at least one instance this camp where the initial reports were wrong over who got cut.

That's not the point. The fact that the team gave up a future pick (player) for a guy who doesn't even make the team is absolutely ridiculous.

They protected themselves against the Raiders, so they should have against the Rams.

There are a lot of Day 2 guys making impacts on teams, and we still have quite a few Day 2 guys over the past few drafts on our roster who are either making impacts or are still on the squad.

I just don't get the, "Oh well, it's just a sixth-rounder!" talk. Those latter Day 2 picks have been gravy for us in the past, and it's those picks that end up making or breaking the ability to move up in rounds and get those crucial draft day trades done.

You can't just dismiss that sort of thing.

They don't have to be a sure thing. You don't throw them away like that. It's stupid. At least protect yourself by demanding that he has to make the team in order for STL to get the pick.
