Default Broken Record: Floyd Little and Broncos dissed again!

The Franchise got dissed again this year in the Hall of Fame.

The brain surgeons Senior Selectors have chosen Marshall Goldberg (?), some guy from the 1940s for the Chicago Cardinals and Emmitt Thomas, DB, from the Super Bowl Chiefs from a million years ago...

I'm sick and disgusted.

When Sharpe goes in they will just hype up how valuable he was to the Ravens. I'm sure Ray Ray will introduce him.

I guess they felt it was really important to add a 14th Cardinal . . . the most hapless organization ever.

I could care less if there are a 1000 Cardinals in.

Floyd deserves to be there on his own merit....not because the Broncos need more representation in the Hall.

I would have loved to hear the argument that was pro-Goldberg and con-Little.

That'd be nice, but I can't really envision him doing anything else but talking about mostly himself.

As for the dis of The Franchise....I expected it. My pledge remains...I'll never, ever go to that sham of a place until Little is in some way inducted.

F the Hall Of Fame...The Ring Of Fame is what matters most to me.

ON the home front, you want to know what is a crime? The fact that Simon Fletcher is not in our ring of fame. How much BS is that?

It's interesting that the teams Senior Selector Rick Gosselin covered -- Lions, Chiefs, and Cowboys -- always seem to have a nominee.

This year it's Chiefs Emmitt Thomas, last year was Lions Charlie Sanders, the year before Cowboys Rayfield Wright.

Hmmmmm. Last year, he also submitted Seniors candidates in order of worthiness. 7 of his top 10 were either Lions, Chiefs or Cowboys.

He also had Louis Wright listed as a Seniors Candidate even though he won't be eligible until 2011.

This is the mentality and subjectiveness that Broncos fans are up against.

Little, Gradishar, Zimmerman should all be in already ...

Sharpe, Shanahan should be locks ...

And a couple-three more years of Champ at this level should do it for him.

I've cooled on Atwater, and Nalen is tough to call. I think he deserves it ... but like he says: If Zim's not in, he shouldn't be either.

Obviously, the game of football was very different when Marshall Goldberg was competing in the 1930s and 40s. I really don't know how worthwhile it is to try and make any sense out of the numbers he posted then sitting here today.

The thing I found most interesting about Mr Goldberg's profile was his peronal information. The gentleman was born October 24, 1917 and he passed away quite recently, on April 3, 2006.

Now, this old jock hadn't strapped on pads in almost 60 years. They had six freaking decades to honor the man. Instead, they wait until he dies at the age of 79 and they enshrine him 18 months later when it doesn't mean **** to him anymore. Go back through the last several years of Senior Committee inductees and you'll see numerous examples of this happening. It's like some kind of sick joke on the widows.

The entire NFL HOF system is ****ed up beyond repair.

I dont think the system is ****ed up beyond repair.

All you have to do is get rid of the sports writers as voters and get the players to be voters. No voting for teammates. System is awesome then.

I agree with Slap. I'm not knocking Marshall Goldberg. I'm sure in his day his stats measured up. But, c'mon. They had six decades to honor him. Plus, I did a little diggin of my own.

Goldberg never led the NFL in rushing and tied once in 1941 with 7 interceptions. He led the NFL in kickoffs twice but, really, who cares.

His best rushing season was in 1941 when he was 3rd in the NFL behind someone named Pug Manders and HOFer George Macafee. In that stellar season, Goldberg rushed for 427 yards and a 3.6 average. Manders average that season was 4.4. Macafee's was 7.3

I think Slap is right. They probably couldn't agree on anyone and they brought up the fact that Goldberg just died. Probably from one of the key voters, Dave Goldberg, AP.

The only problem I have with Emmitt Thomas is he's like the 7th or 8th Chief from that 1 Super Bowl victorious team of 1969 . . . and I think Johnny Robinson was a better DB.

Crazy! The degree of disrespect.
