Default For those of you with Red Lion on Bryant Reservations...

I sent an email to them doublechecking our reservation and the confirmation they sent me was kind of messed up ...so I called the RL and she said that the hotel is in the process of a name change, along with improvements....that includes the heat! (This is one of their main goals because of complaints.) The name of the hotel that goes into affect tomorrow is "Hotel VQ @ Mile High"! They are also closing down the main Red Lion Website (and are in the process of setting up a new site with the new name) so she said it is kind of screwed up. You may just want to doublecheck your reservations and get a confirmation number.

Its good to know they are upgrading. I had a high school buddy come into town and we met up. He was telling me how much a hole that thing had become. The AC broke and it was one of the first warm days here. He bent a key trying to pry the window open that had stuck shut.

If someone threw some money into that hotel they could really have something. Hopefully thats what they are doing now.

Can I get this stickied Blue?
I didn't want to add it in the tailgating thread because I thought it would be too hard to find in there. Thanks!

Good to know Sassy!

I'll keep an eye out on reviews and see if anything changes. Maybe they'll have a Grand Opening special on rates?

It also might be a good idea to find out what their time line is on renovations and what they have planned. You guys don't want to have to deal with renovations and such while you are staying there if it's a major.

I was kind of hinting around at that...I asked her if she knew what floor we'd be on and she said that is done at check-in...so those of you that say you know what floor...how did that happen? It sounded like the heat/ac would be one of the major things...I'm guessing the rooms would be redone too...and one would think that by the end of September most of that could be completed. One would think that they would want that done by football season since they have the prime location! It sounds like they have already started. Our room had been confirmed at the $109 rate. I should have asked more questions!

If anyone finds out anything else let us know!
(like what renovations they are doing and when they are expected to be completed!) Oh yeah and ask if the Skybox will still be open!

yeah...but then again...eveything I've checked close to downtown have had MAJOR price increases...like what your rooms would be now (increased by over 100 for the night of the game)

When I told her we were concerned about the heat (and that we had stayed there before) She kind of laughed and said that it was a main priority.

Hopefully, it works out well by September.

Thanks for the update Sassy! Ill call tomorrow. When I reserved my room, the lady said that we would be on the 6th or 7th floor facing Mile High. I should confirm that. Ill also ask about skybox and other things as well. How did you get the 109 price? it was 149 for me

She said they don't assign floors/rooms until you check-in
That's what I was told...
Sounds good! Let us know the scoop!
We reserved the 2nd and 3rd week in September online knowing that one of those weekends would be a home game since the first game was in Oak. The prices went up after the schedule came out...as they always do...and since we could still cancel up until 24 hours before the date we decided to book two before the schedule came out and cancel one later.

Something like 2 days after the schedule came out, RL jacked up room prices by $40 per night.... we knew they would do this because they did the same thing last year... so we made reservations early for the most likely couple of weekends (2nd-3rd week in Sept.).

Ok, well I don't know what is going on with price but I did speak to someone there at Hotel VQ. She said that although they do not assign the rooms until check-in, you can still request the view at the stadium. I did that when i reserved the room. She also said that they are doing renovations progressively throughout the year and should be pretty sweet by the time our O'mane weekend roles around. The bar at the top will definately be open and running she added. The ac should also be taken care of by then.

Airfare does get charged right away...they don't charge you for the room until that date...usually...unless you get the rooms that have the "pay right now" no cancellation fee to get a better rate.

He was asking specifically about skoosh. That's why I said that I think they do.

Some websites do charge you right away for the rooms and some do allow for cancellations as well. Expedia does allow cancellations without fees. Also, sometimes you can get reduced rates with the 'internet specials" and "prey pay" specials.
