Default Khan's camp un-report 8/8 PM

Hey guys, I just got back. The afternoon practices really wasn't that great and so this will sort of be a pseudo report. Just about every starter was resting and as Andrew Mason said on the sidelines "it's like watching the last preseason game of the year" where only the scrubs play. DJ Williams, Javon Walker and Jay Cutler were out there.

Scheffler worked out the whole practice. He took snaps on special teams and looked incredibly rusty. He got jammed by Karl Paymah and wasn't as explosive as he was last year. It will take him some time to get back. I'm personally thinking three weeks. He did have a nice grab on a corner route where he beat DD lewis.

Hixon is the number one punt returner with Kircus and Brian Clark next in line. Kircus muffed the punt today.

They worked on long snapping some more. O'Brien is trying to get the time it takes to hold much quicker.

Brian Clark had a nice grab as well. He's doing better and is making some decent plays.

The scrub first team line consists of Myers at center with Kuper at LG and Holland at RG. Meadows is the right tackle and Pears is the Left. Overall it was a bleh practice which is characteristic of afternoon practices as everyone is winded.

Hey, I can even glean an interesting bit of info from your "un-report." It's nice to know that Myers is still in the mix at center, although it's obviously nothing conclusive. I've seen a good bit of speculation among fans as to whether the team is still thinking of sliding Hamilton over when Nails hangs 'em up, or whether Myers or Eslinger is considered the center of the future. Right now it sounds to me like Eslinger is a longshot to make the team, and if that's the case it clears that picture up a bit. Even if the team isn't necessarily looking at him in that capacity, I love Myers' versatility, and can easily see him hanging around as a long-term backup/swing lineman. It's always nice to have a vet who knows the system and can come off the bench at a number of different spots.

I forgot to mention I spent thirty minutes of practice focusing mostly on Tim Crowder. He is actually playing pretty well (although it's against scrubs) the best thing about him is his motor and he is learning to use his hands and arms well. He put some decent pressure on the quarterback and made some plays in the running game. It was a solid practice for him.

So is he the second coming of Trevor Pryce like the morning guys on 950 practically say every day?

The connection will go in and out, with a little "Network Cable Unplugged" notice. I know that's not true, all the cables are fine, I've checked them many, many times. It just keeps going in and out. It was horrible yesterday. I'd get a connection for maybe 3 minutes at the most, then itd go out, then back on. I have cable internet through a local company. I called and they're sending a guy out tomorrow.

Just off the top of my head it could be your NIC card, the line is shorting out for some reason, or the modem might be having issues.

At work my NIC card will just stop working. I have to reset the box and it fixes it. At least they will be out tomorrow.

Crowder is the second coming of Barney Chavous. I like EE, but Crowder will be a more complete player, but not a sack machine.

No. I still think he has a ways to go before he's the second coming of Ebenezer Ekuban.

kaylore, what's your feelings regarding the TE position?

obviously Graham and Scheff are locks. but who else do you think makes the team? I've seen you mention Nate Jackson a few times. howz his blocking looking? with teyo, alexander, and mustard also in the mix (ignore leach) how many do you think shanny will be able to keep? care to make a prediction for the opening day roster at the position?
