Very short one today.
The sun was out again at camp and a large crowd gathered at Dove Valley to take advantage of the warm weather. The minimal breeze and generally good conditions made for a much better camp on the offensive side of the ball this morning. Players had shorts and minimal padding and that helped them execute more exactly and gave them a reprieve from the two-a-day full pad practices they had been going through. The team is starting to get healthier. Scheffler was out and while he was still limited to a few drills early, he stayed on the field the whole time. Jarvis Moss was also back with bandaged up knee that he was favoring throughout the day. He even played in the run drills before being pulled for the rest of practice to watch on the sideline. Mike Bell was also back with no bandaging that I could see. Nate Webster was held out with some injury that Coach described as “banged up” in his press conference. Lepsis and Hamilton did not practice but were out there. I didn’t see Warren out there very much either. The offense seemed to really come out firing this time after having such a terrible day yesterday. The protection was much better for the quarterbacks and that was with Sam Adams playing in the rotation. During redzone work, the first team offense was able to make quite a few plays and score some points as did the other units. The only time they struggled was in the redzone during a two-minute situation. They had the teams matched up against their counterparts during this scrimmage (ones on ones, twos on twos, etc.) Jay was doing a really good job of checking down and then scrambling the ball when no one was open, which was most of the time. He really used his feet much better than he has before to buy time and find guys down field. He converted quite a few third downs himself with runs and passes. Unfortunately after they got to the redzone things were shut down. Paymah deflected a pass to Walker and I believe Shoate broke up what would have been a touchdown on fourth down after Cutler eluded a sack. One interesting this was Elam and Sauerbrun as a holder are improving. They were drilling taking snaps in practice yesterday and Elam hit all his field goals today save for one. He also caught a TD from Todd Sauerbrun on a fake field goal play which was kind of funny. Elam did not pull up lame. Overall, the passing game was much better and the run game had its positive moments. Brian Clark had a better day. I suspect that he’s thinking much less he has in previous camps. They moved Meadows over to right tackle and put Pears back at left and the protection was much better. I think the improved line play really helped things get going. Cutler made some really nice throws and his touch is much better than it used to be. Ramsey has also settled down quit nicely and gets better every day. The tight ends were making many of the plays with Nate Jackson having some real impressive grabs and Teyo Johnson scoring some touchdowns as well. Graham was used more as a blocker again. He is frequently used in the passing game, but he doesn’t always get great separation. Overall it was a pretty good practice and it was nice to see the offense beat the defense for once. Jeff Shoate had his best day of practice making some interceptions and just generally playing good football. Dre Bly had another int. He’s had at least one turnover in almost every practice during camp. That’s pretty impressive. |

nice to see that these guys got a break from the pads today....the team was starting to resemble a M.A.S.H unit more and more every day
also nice to see that Elam and Sauerbraun are getting aquainted i take it that Marshall is still working out with Greek? is he running at all?? this is really starting to frustrate me personally because i thought he could be a guy who could help push us over the hump...oh well i guess |

Thank you very much for these Reports, I wait for them anxiously every day-after some people here felt the sky was falling yesterday it's good to hear that the offense is improving- |

Where did it say that someone asked about the status of Marshall? Khan pointed out he hasn't seen him but thats not what I asked. I guess I should spell it out. Has there been any questions in the press conferences regarding Marshall and how far out he is this week. Last I read shanny hasn't commented since sometime last week.

I would have loved to see these two today - did you get any photos? I can't tell you how excited I am about this 'option'! From what I hear, Elam is much better in the open field this year too? lol! |

Khan did you see Peter King at Camp today? I think he will be there today or tomorrow, I'm looking forward to see what his thoughts were since he has seen several other camps. Thanks for the report, you've helped make the dog=days of TC for us non-Denverians much better.
