Because he's trying to troll this thread for an argument, just like he did when students were dying at VTech.

Yeah, cause millions of girls are dying while playing softball. You may have a point with the latter though

I've been hit in the lower head/upper neck with a pitch while playing in high school. Gave me a concussion, and a really bad headache.

Beats watching TV and being hooked on Drugs.
Even if they are hooked on Drugs at least they are outside living life and not living their life vicariously through TV programs. I pitch for mens 12" softball, only thing I am worried about is getting a liner in the teeth. Too much dental work invested already. I was concerned at first but I stopped wearing my cup after the 4th game, they do scream by you so you hear the laces but I have been lucky so far. Plus it is amazing how quick you can react when there is screamer flying at you. Self Preservation truly takes over. |

Looks like Gonzo bought himself another ban.
Mocking the circumstances behind someone's death is walking a line. Mocking the circumstances behind a child's death should result in a banning. In this case, it looks like it did. Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying there should be hard, fast rules about such things. But there's a common sense and decency standard that people should inherently know. |

Spam kills. Immediately after the VA Tech shooting, he's in that thread trying to provoke an argument about video game violence while kids are bleeding.
His first reaction to this thread is to provoke an argument about a girls place in sports. Screw him. He's not here for discussion. He's here to poke peole in the eye and laugh when they get mad about it. And as seen by these two instances, he doesn't care if he's wiping his feet on other people's graves to do it. But then he'll turn around and demand respect when someone like Slap turns the tables on him and puts this kind of abuse in his lap. I don't condone those tactics... But like Chris Rock says: "I understand." /if there's one thing I learned about the way things went down this last couple of months, it's that some house cleaning is in order. Gonzo just made the third troll to hit my ignore list.
It is pretty sad that this type of incident happened so close to each other. |

I never really worry about it playing in Men's League, because I haven't ever had any incidents in two years and there have only been a couple I've seen in person, but my heart goes out to this girls family.
I was laughing when I was watching my friend Macey playing slow pitch in her girl's league here in town and that the catcher and the hitter were wearing helmets, I never understood why - and I laughed, but now I can say I regret laughing. I don't know if this calls for helmet's in the field though. That same game, a girl got a line drive in the face and broke her cheekbone, but I think a lot of it had to do with poor coordination, but it's still concerning. Playing catcher, I get a lot of foul tips coming at a fast pace behind me. I always change up my stance (not even close to a normal catcher's stance in baseball, depends on the count and the pitch) based on the batters stance and what side of the plate he plays on. If I wouldn't do this, I'd probably be sliced in the face every damn time a ball goes back. Perhaps this is just a wrong place at the wrong time thing, but I think a lot of injuries like that, in regards to softball could be helped with a little knowledge of the game and more practice. Still really sad though. |

You know, the unfortunate thing is that Gonzo is a smart guy. He could add a lot to the board, if he wanted to.
Don't get me wrong. I get tired of the way he baits people - especially when it comes to issues or race. But there have been occasions where I was impressed by something he wrote; both in the concept about which he was writing, and the way that he wrote it. And I wouldn't even mind that he can be controversial, if he wasn't just being controversial for controversy's sake. I guess some people just prefer negative attention. |

accidents happen. You don't have to cry foul and change the rules everytime some kid dies. It was an accident sh1t happens.
Why don't we just play with an imaginary ball instead. |

This is my little cousin's best friend. I find it hard to imagine what must be going through her 12 year old head. My prayers for her and for the girl's family.
