Default LJ trade to Cowboys?

I would so love for this to happen. I would love it if the Cowboys traded a 1st for LJ. The Chiefs would mess up the pick anyway and they would lose their only offensive threat.

Rumor Mill - L.J. Heading to the Cowboys?

SoCals Link: http://www.nflgridirongab.com/2007/0...o-the-cowboys/

The Dallas Cowboys have always been known to be at the top of the rumor mill, and now one fantastic trade rumor has surfaced that has Dallas right in the thick of things. While Cowboys owner and GM Jerry Jones is known to be quite the deal-maker, this latest rumor though, is highly unlikely. Sure RB Larry Johnson is somewhat unhappy with his contract situation in Kansas City, and the Cowboys are stated to be missing the “wow” factor in their RB squad as some have heard circulated around Valley Ranch. But the mathematics of it are the most improbable.

Johnson is due a $1.7 million for this season but could hold out for a new contract, which could be too expensive a price tag for most teams to offer now. Some figures have his asking price as high as $28-30 million for a 2-3 year contract. Not that he’s isn’t a great back and worthy of such negotiations, but I just don’t see the Cowboys be able to ink such a deal right now. Plus, they would most likely have to throw in a draft pick or two in next year’s draft, so I think it’s a little out of the realm of possiblity for this trade to occur.

Julius Jones has alot of potential to become the break-away back he was initially tagged for and Marion Barber III is one of the toughest, most productive third down backs in the league. Add in the young talent in Tyson Thompson, who has shown some great promise, and I don’t think that the Cowboys are seriously RB shopping this year.

I don't see the Cowboys doing it though. They have two solid backs. I think the Eagles should go after LJ though.

Yeah, seems like a strange trade to make. Neither Jones and Barber are outstanding by themselves but together they make a good combo in Dallas.

Why trade away a first for a guy who is coming off 750+ carries in 2 seasons when you have 2 first round picks in what could be an epic draft for running backs?

The Cowboys don't like their RB situation and the LJ might be unhappy with his deal. That's not a rumor, that's idle speculation.

If LJ were traded anywhere, than I think the perfect place would be Pittsburgh. LJ would be happy back home and utilized in the Steelers offense. He just seems like the hard-nosed player that the Steelers are used to.

But i doubt he gets traded

Barber and Jones are sweet, Dallas would be crazy to do that. LJ is great, but the Cowboys are good at the position.

WOW I would hate to see LJ traded to the Steelers. I don't believe KC would trade him in the conference. I'm hoping. I'm a big Diaper Boy fan.

I would just like to see him go to the NFC. He is a beast.

Johnson is making a push for a salary bump now, because he knows that he's about to go into a full season with niether Roaf or Shields. He better get his money while he can, because it is very possible that he never plays as well as he did last season again.

That's the gist of it. His best years are behind him so it would do him well to lock up a big deal so that he gets something to retire on before his knees go nuclear. I hope it's with the Chiefs.

Roaf and Shields were the Chiefs.

I just dont fear their run game at all anymore, and I doubt that any defensive coordinator in the NFL does.

Let's hope that LJ gets that big money from KC. He'll tie up a ton of offensive resource money for them. Go LJ!

LMAO!

I love this ****. LJ is going to have an excellent year simply because our offensive tackles aren't total dogcrap like they were last year. Throw in the fact that he was working with Joe Carini this offseason, the guy who made Tiki Barber into SUPERMAN, and I'm expecting another great year full of Donk killin.'

How do you explain the near-300 yards LJ put up on Denver last year, then?

You're right. Why should he have to suffer through a season with a bad O line and then be punished money wise because he didn't put up the numbers he has.

He knows this and that is why he is going to hold out. As a football player I really like the guy. I like him more thn I ever liked Portis. The things Diaper Boy could do in a Bronco uni would be a sight to see. That being said I hope he is traded to Tampa.

What Boob was trying top say was that he is looking fwd to KC winning "Their" Super Bowl and missing the playoffs.

I think that Diaper Boy is quite average. The NFL will have an opportunity to take a look at what he is without a hall of fame offensive lineman making him look better than he is.

When are you folks going to accept the fact that our offensive line is better than it was a year ago? I remember I had to drill it into your heads a year ago that our defense improving.
