Supreme Court maintains limits on tobacco ads

OTTAWA (Reuters) - The Supreme Court on Thursday unanimously upheld a law limiting tobacco advertisements, dismissing arguments from three big cigarette companies that the legislation was too broad.

The nine judges said the law was constitutional. The law bans tobacco broadcast commercials as well as adverts aimed at young people, and obliges companies to put large graphic warning labels on cigarette packages.
