"Opec has warned western countries that their efforts to develop biofuels as an alternative energy source to combat climate change risks driving the price of oil “through the roof”." |

You wouldn't be inferring that by causing turmoil in the ME and ousting people in power, we ccan create enough strife that we deal with war lords, selling oil cheaper than opec - because they need to fund their little enclave do ya?

While I deplore their effort to monopolize the fuel industry, I agree that biofuel is not the future. I think the future is in EVs.

Opec is just worried they won't make as much money if we have alternative fuels. We have to soldier foward and not worry about their threats. Atlernative fuels have to be developed.

the problem with biofuel..and in this case...e85..it's driving the cost of other goods up...and really it's less efficent and ultimately will cost us more than gas on that alone.

Since OPEC is a cartel...it would seem the senate has deemed them illegal

Is OPEC really that stupid?
With all their money they could / should be on the leading edge of any and all alternative fuels. By doing this they could even actually help themselves in stabilizing the region and maybe bring some peace. But what the hell am I thinking? |

Well, do we really want to reduce our dependence on oil, and more specifically, oil from the ME? It isn't going to come cheap....

Alternative fuels are not limited to corn. They could be the uncontested hydrogen fuel cell developer. |

are you serious? Where do you think the terrorists live. This is the single biggest reason for why these people hate us. They dont hate us because of freedom like the "President" wants us to believe. They hate us because we have military bases in Saudi Arabia that are there solely to protect "our" oil. |

We did pull out, in 2003. This was happening long before then. The Saudi royals are in bed with our government and have been for a long time.
