They think Sam Walton and Ronald McDonald have a happy little hamburger patch where the little frozen patties are born. And the bacon and chicken patties live in harmony...

Hence your problem. If we can't treat animals humanely how will we ever treat each other? And to somehow say that they need to be intelligent to feel pain or fear is ridiculous.

Let's start with treating them better.

I'll feed bambi and make sure it gets excellent care so he tastes better.

Thanks. I was using the eloquence you displayed in your "sick bastards" post. Thought there was a theme...

Overall the tone was that animals suffer unnecessarily when they are raised and slaughtered. I've never met anyone involved with cattle, hogs or sheep that wanted their animals to suffer and mostly it's the opposite.

The reality is that the animals have to die to make meat. Sorry.

On a side note, I've always had issues with the way chickens are raised and kept on those massive chicken farms.

Does the video mention where the footage is being shot? I'm watching with no sound.

Well to be honest I can't watch the video at work, but I use to work in a meat packaging plant, a dairy farm, and pig ranch so I've seen a lot.

The blood, guts, how they are killed, etc might bother some people such as yourself but it doesn't bother me. And being macho has nothing to do with it.

Not wanting them to suffer and letting them suffer is a cop out. It's like saying I didn't want to be an a hole.No one is saying animals don't have to die, it's the way they are treated prior to death and the sloppy way in which they are killed. If you have issues with the chicken farms then you partly understand.

I dont see it that way , take Chickens , they crawl into their own food and crap , continue on eating , look at a chicken coop on a farm , it is a mess , Dirty and filthy , and they do this in an open chicken coop , Laying hens that are not killed are just as filthy ....... we used to call a chicken a yard buzzard for a reason , Pigs , extremely intelligent animal , but it wont hesitate to take a chunk out of you and eat it ..........
and they are not exaclty a clean animal .. point is I dont see the getting upset over this when these animals will do this in the open ...... Veal maybe a legitimate point though

Even though the slaugtering process looks bad, Do you have any idea how much care the cows get before they go to market. They live a very stress free life, until the day they walk up the truck ramp. They recieve medicine, all the food they can eat, and get to hang out with thier buddies all day and all night long. Once they hit the beef plant, the stress begins, and it is horrible but over with quickley. Anyone notice all the illegals in the video?

I rarely eat red meat these days. Feed lots are a lot different now than when I grew up.

If I find some natural fed angus (like in southern Colo. no hormones, steroids, etc..) or something of the like, I'll eat it. I quit eating fast food years ago so that helps.

go to any dairy farm or meat packing facility and the majority of workers will be illegals.
