Default Joe Theisman's Top 5 NFL Organizations

O.K.,

Flame me if you want, it was getting a little boring here, so I went to the Chargers Forum to see if they were talking about us over there (they don't seem to very often).

Anyway, I came on this over there (and did not see it here (sorry if it's a dupe)-I know not many of you like Theisman, but since he's liking us, I thought, what the hell-

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2814205

Dang it, please delete this thread-it's an old subject-sorry!

I hate Theezman and I know he is just paying compliments to the Broncos in an attempt to win my personal admiration

Any list that doesn't have the Rooney's should be slammed. Any list that has Jerry Jones and does not have the Rooney's should be destroyed and it's creator flogged publicly.

Funny, people around here hate Theisman. Oddly, he's always paid this organization major respect and was a staunch John Elway supporter, even during the years were it was trendy among football idiots to call him a "choker."

I've got no major problem with him. He knows the game. He's a little annoying. So are most of these guys. Name one commentator that is revered by fans? (And I don't mean a guy like Michaels, who basically doesn't say anything.)

The list looks decent. Ravens could be left off in favor of Steelers pretty logically.

I have no problem with him. His arrogance and voice can be annoying but he does know a lot. I mean I would take him over Craig James, Michael Irvin, or Deion Sanders anyday.

I don't hate Theisman.

Hell, in a previus incarnation I was even a Redskins fan. I remember cheering the Hogs when Theisman took them to the 82-83 SB -- and they won it.

That was a hellova game

This takes me down memory lane. I will never forget that weekend -- But then I was due some R&R after weeks of dodging rattlers and moccasins in the Florida outback with a gritty crew of hoedads.

The Hogs were were great in their day.

I never noticed one way or the other that Thiesman liked Broncos but to be honest I didn't pay much attention. I just can't listen to the guy he bugs me.

I hate the Ravens with a passion most men have never felt, but I'll say this... Ozzie is one of the best in the business. That surely doesn't make them a great organization, but he's been a big part in pointing them in the right direction.

How about the bottom 5? How about Detroit, Oakland, Cleveland, Arizona, and Detroit again?

ha, how old is ESPN's pic of Theismann now?

They should be required to update every year. Although, if I were a broken-down old nag of a pseudo-journalist I might want a 15 year old byline photo too.

I gotta give it to Theisman for a couple of things:

1) He was a preety tough player, despite that facemask, the guy used to run kicks back before he got a chance to play QB

2) He used to "boff" Cathy Lee Crosby, when she was in her prime..("Real People" days)

3) One of the gretaest lines in recent broadcast history, even if he was trying to be serious, ..."a real genius is somebody like that guy Norman Einstein.." priceless....

Joe's ok with me. He's opinionated, which he's supposed to be. He thinks Tony Kornheiser's an all around moron (and treats him as such in the booth), which he is. He's got some insight, no more or less than any other talking head today really.

Just in the time i typed that, my feelings went from 'ok' to ambivalent.

I actually find Joe entertaining and some of his insights are legit. There is also something enjoyable about how he just says what's going on on the sidelines in a very matter-of-fact way. I laugh at him and I laugh with him. Kornheiser is a joke.
