Well, here we go again folks. Mister "scheffy" has determined the reason there aren't more black players in baseball is...now follow this...it's BECAUSE
LATIN PLAYERS ARE EASIER TO CONTROL BY "THE MAN" YES, his brilliant mind has come to this conclusion without any help! You see, according to mister "scheffy" Latinos are weak jellyfish that do anything they're told, so they get recruited the most for baseball! You see blacks wouldn't put up with control by management (ie THE WHITE MAN!) so management gets players that are meek and mild. Send "Trippy the clown" back to the cave, please. If you haven't heard this story yet, believe me you will before the week is out. This must be the "New Wave of Stupidity" that is popular now. Just say something stupid, get people worked up then sit back and watch the show. Why the Detroit Press would even bother with this Maroon's opinions is beyond me. So scheffy went for the trifecta... He insulted blacks (you know, blacks are wild, tough and can't function in society. They don't take no stuff) He insulted whites (you know, all whites have a genetic need to control everything) He insulted latinos (you know, they're weak, simpleminded people and can't speak english so you can run them over) I can see this guy won't be getting many christmas cards this year. I'll give him credit for being a multiracial idiot...he's covered miles of stupidity in one pop. |

At least now we know why Sharpton is in Detroit. I wasn't buying that "clean up rap" schtick.

He made errors and struck out purposely to force a trade from Milwaukee as a 21 year old rookie. I wish MLB would have banned him for life.

He is right to a point. A Latino from offshore is trained not to make waves and the boss likes to be in charge. |

The percentage of African Americans in the sport has tumbled under 10%, its lowest mark since the 60s. The number of Latino players has swelled in the same time frame. Basically Sheffield is trying to paint the system as racist, while implying teams would prefer to keep docile Latino players on the end of the bench rather than deal with strong black men like him. BTW, a large percentage of Latinos have been labled moody malcontents in baseball lockerrooms dating back to Roberto Clemente. Half the time, these guys are quiet because they're uncomfortable with the language, but reporters brand them as moody and the label sticks to them. Sheffield is a disgrace as a human being. |
