Nothing new, but I am bored dammit!
http://www.newerascouting.com/index.php?c=32&a=697 Denver Broncos Round 1 Pick 17 Jarvis Moss - DE - Florida Moss was a need pick, especially after the Broncos failed to secure Patrick Kerney in free agency. Moss was never a consistent presence for the Gators, but he did show up in the team's high profile games. If he can gain another 10 pounds to his frame and improve his strength, Moss stands to be a burgeoning force along the defensive front. His impact will be felt immediately; as he will give the team their best pass rushing presence since Trevor Pryce's heyday. Round 2 Pick 56 Tim Crowder - DE - Texas Crowder is a more complete defensive end than Moss – he weighs in at 275 pounds and is a force against the run. However, he sometimes plays too high and his movements can look very mechanical at times. Once he figures out the nuances of the position, he will skyrocket up the depth chart and likely team with Moss as the starting defensive end tandem, relegating Elvis Dumerville to a situational pass rusher role – one which better suits his skill set. Round 3 Pick 70 Ryan Harris - OT - Notre Dame With the offensive line aging quickly, Harris stands to see playing time in the near future. Adam Meadows and Matt Lepsis are both 33 years old, and Lepsis is coming off an ACL tear and facing free agency in the near future. Harris fits the mold of the classic Broncos lineman, as is technique is based more on quickness than brute strength and he has the smaller, athletic frame than Mike Shanahan loves. Harris will get great coaching in Denver and should step into the starter's role in 2008. Round 4 Pick 121 Marcus Thomas - DT - Florida The team took a flier on one of the bigger character-flawed prospects in the draft by selecting Thomas in the fourth round. When he was on the field, there were not many that doubted Thomas' ability to dominate at the professional level, however, he has not seen too much of the field recently, as he only played in four games in 2006 due to discipline issues. However, Thomas was a great value pick here and will see playing time sooner than later. He is great at tying up blockers, which is essential in the linebacker-based scheme the Broncos have relied on. |

"and Lepsis is coming off an ACL tear and facing free agency in the near future. "
Didn't we just sign him to a 4-5 year deal last year? |

Yeah. Once again the ugly head of media stupidity rears up and smites the sensibilities of anyone who knows anything about the Broncos. Obviously, this guy has limited knowledge.....
I am getting tired of the "charater issues" police out there. These people are freaking obsessed with character issues. The man did not beat a woman or children and he has not been convicted of anything. Vick is a character issue. Thomas is an overgrown teenager who paid a serious price for bad judgment. Get over it.... |
