Default Simple question...

Why are Democrats such pu$$ies? There are some that have conviction and vote accordingly. Just so happens they aren't in leadership positions.

Let's see, they had a clear mandate after the 06 election, majority in both the senate & house and what do they do? Exactly what Cheney said they would do. Gave Bush everything he wanted because they were afraid he would say something bad about them during their recess. And guess what? He did it anyway.

I'm fed up with both parties and neither party will get another dime from me!

Sorry for the rant!

I've wondered that myself. I don't have a clue. I liked how the Dems buckled and gave Bushy what he wanted, and the next day, he starts rattling his saber at Iran. I'm at a loss who to vote for. Maybe I'll just stay home.

They knew Bushii would veto any funding bill that had time limits or benchmarks that could not be waived. They buckled because they feared they'd be Roved over Memorial Day, and they should not have. They should have said 3400 Dead 12000 Wounded - no more until bushii agrees to be held accoutable for his war; we'll fund the war till hell freezes over, but only if the admin is following a plan that has some probablity of success. And then let the chips fall.

However, I really think Bushii is enough of a sociopath to really leave the troops there with even more inadequate equipment than they have now.

So, the political easy way out was to do a deal with the congress gopers and give it until Sept, and then pull the plug ... unless all-ah-mucky gets off his ass.

Plus, imo most Dems know that pulling out of Iraq in what is percieved as a defeat would be bad for the country, so if there's a chance ....

I was listening to General McAffery on the radio this morning saying that all the political bs going on around Iraq is moot. His take is that the services are so devastated now that they won't be able to keep it up much longer. The Marines and the Air Force especially are hurting. The loss of Captains and experienced NCOs is already impairing the mission. They are getting out as soon as their enlistments are up and they are not being replaced. The Guard units are completely collapsing, and not being replaced. And the equipment failures and losses, which are not being reported, are completely disabling the capacity to carry out the missions asked of them. Bush has destroyed our military, created more terrorists, and made our enemies in Iran more powerful. It's a trifecta!

If the chicken **** Dems don't move quickly to impeach this idiot, what will he do in the two more years he has left?

Not a coincidence that Russia and China are both flexing their military muscles.

Particularly pathetic was the link to soldiers asking Joe "say it ain't so" Lieberman when they'd get the upgraded humvees and body armor. The answer is, they aren't getting it. Bob Gates isn't gonna send the new stuff when the units will eventually be withdrawn and remanned with new people

Back when Bushii first started this bull**** war, I was selling my father in law's house, and having a big, big garage sale trying to get rid of everything they'd accumulated in 40 years of marriage, and I'll never forget these two women who came by. Mother and daughter in law. Dad's been deployed. Daughter is blind, and just married to a divinity student, setting up her household. They wanted stuff like boot shining equip and plastic dishes and folding chairs. It was hard to sell the stuff just cheap enough not to offend their dignity. I'm hard pressed to find any moral difference to Vietnam. I never cared very much one way or another about the Viets - all sides seemed useless and corrupt. But we waged a war to protect a potus' presidential election, and we waged it by preying upon the best of the working poor. It seems about the same here. I'd like to put a pick-axe in bushii and cheney, but of course I won't .... even if on some blessed day I'd get a free chance.
