The Broncos have had internal discussions regarding veteran defensive tackle Sam Adams, but they will gather more information before deciding whether to bring him in for a visit. Adams and Broncos defensive line coach Bill Johnson go way back - to 1993, when both were at Texas A&M. Nearly 14 years later, Adams was released Monday by the Cincinnati Bengals after an unproductive season in which he struggled with his conditioning. ...

If its relatively cheap, bring'em in. He's a giant tub of lard like Bates loves. He also plays at a high level when motivated.

If he comes in motivated, that will take us a long way towards fixing our d-line troubles.

He was on Sirius the other day and was quite impressive -- thoughtful, funny, smart. Seems to realize he's dogged it a bit and has been shedding a bit of weight and working for the next opportunity.
Let's give it a try. |

I can't imagine he's worth less the time that they spent trying to get Wilkinson and likely just as inexpensive. Worth a trial.

The chances of Denver picking him up on the "cheap" is pretty slim. It could still happen, especially with his ties to the Denver coaching staff. However, he was a salary cap casualty and would have to agree to a pay cut.

This would be a good signing. It would take some of the pressure off of Marcus Thomas and allow for a run stuffer to play next to Gerard. Whether he makes the roster or not, it would be a quality risk to take. I dont think that we can expect Moss, Thomas, or Crowder to upgrade the line enough this season to see what this defense could be.
I think that Adams would be a great addition that would allow for further depth and flexibility for a front four that was worn out and ineffective for the last half of the season. |

It makes sense for both parties.
Barring unreasonable contract demand or failing a physical, I imagine he very well may be a Bronco before too long. Anyone know if other teams have shown interest in Adams? |

It is going to be interesting to see how Bates' system deals with the "No Huddle" O. The fat guys run out of gas and subs are hard to get in. Therefor, Adams might be good for most games. Others, not so much......
