Default Hotrods final straw on Iraq

Its over let them burn.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070511/ap_on_go_co/us_iraq

"The most recent irritant among U.S. lawmakers was a report that Iraqi officials would break for two months this summer.

"Our armed forces are up to 150,000 troops; we're over $600 billion appropriated for this, lost 3,300 lives, 25,000 wounded fellow citizens. ... And the Iraqi answer? We're taking a summer off. Goin' fishing," said Rep. Rahm Emanuel (news, bio, voting record), D-Ill.

Saleh said he expects the vacation to be shortened by at least a month, although nothing had been decided. He added that Iraqis value being independent and do "not take kindly of (U.S. officials) telling us when to recess."

The idea that

1. They would even consider a vacation
2. They dont like that we dont like it.

Were dying over there and they are taking time off.

The majority of these same people, just signed a petition asking us to set a deadline for when we leave.

Fair enough deadline is tomorrow at noon... Good luck

By the way Hotrod welcome to the good side better late than never

Well, if this is true, and they truley are going to take a 'break', I do see justification for us to take a break. Possibly a permanent one. I could care less at that point if the lot of them gets hung out to dry...dman

By the way for everyone out raged at their "vacation" hasn't our current commander in chief taken more "vacation time" than any other president. Maybe they modeled our democracy pretty well... at least one aspect of it.

Unbelievable. They need to be working their a$$es off to help fix this crap over there. Ya know, I more and more think that maybe some gun toting dictater is what these people do need to keep order over there. They don't know how to handle freedom. Maybe we should have left things as they were. It's frustrating.

Majority of Iraqi Lawmakers Now Reject Occupation

By Raed Jarrar and Joshua Holland, AlterNet. Posted May 9, 2007.

On Tuesday, without note in the U.S. media, more than half of the members of Iraq's parliament rejected the continuing occupation of their country. 144 lawmakers signed onto a legislative petition calling on the United States to set a timetable for withdrawal, according to Nassar Al-Rubaie, a spokesman for the Al Sadr movement, the nationalist Shia group that sponsored the petition.

Unfortunately it's true.

It's the same argument with people wanting to impeach Bush. Unless you are going to get Cheney impeached as well don't bother, because he would be worse.
