i am reading jeremy green's chat on ESPN this morning and came across this:
Mike in Miami: Is Ketshawn a fit for the Packers? Any chand they'll get him? It would seem that would take some of the load off Donald Driver. SportsNation Jeremy Green: (1:06 PM ET ) He would be a great fit. He is a great fit at this point in any West Coast offense. Key will still go over the middle and catch in a crowd. He is big, physical and he can still break some tackles after the catch. I have a feeling Denver will be his landing spot though. Tod (Sedona, Az): Jeremy- No matter what the Bronco's seem to do it's almost like they take two steps forward and three back. Will the new DE's provide the pressure they need and will their LB's be as good without Big Al? SportsNation Jeremy Green: (1:13 PM ET ) I don't know about that. They focused on the D-line which is the biggest weakness. I think Moss is going to get a lot of pressure this season, which will only enhance the amount of big play opportunities Champ and Dre Bly come up with. I think Denver has taken a lot of steps forward to try to challenge the Chargers in the West this season. |

Keyshawn? Am I the only one who doesn't see how Denver signing him makes any sense at all?

I don't know what Keyshawn offers us that Rod Smith isn't already giving us. I guess it just depends on Rod's health.

There are so many journos and broadcasters that don't know about Marshall its untrue. I really think that the Broncos believe in him, and if you look at the history fo the Broncos you will see that Shanny isn't afraid to stick with guys he believes in....like Rod for example!

Just say no to Meshawn. Marshal is the future, Meshawn the past.

Not with the TE's we have, especially after getting Graham in the offseason, I think we are going to own the middle, and alot of that will have to do with the pure effectiveness of Travis Henry.

I'm with you chrisp.
Brandon Marshall really stepped up towards the end of the last year. Sure, he's only in his 2nd year and he's "unproven". But how can he ever prove himself if he isn't given the chance? If the Broncos sign Keyshawn, Marshall is instantly demoted to (at least) the #3 WR and then we go into 2008 talking about the "unproven" Brandon Marshall again. At this point Marshall has a lot more potential than Keyshawn. Just give the kid a chance to see what he can do as the #2. If he doesn't pan out, then you move on and make the appropriate roster adjustments. But you'll never what he's capable of doing if he's wasting on the bench. |

I think Marshall has proven that he can be a really good WR. It seemed like everytime we threw at him he made something happen. (granted, we didn't throw at him that much until the end of the season) He has to keep that up. He would have another +40 yd TD if Cutler doesn't underthrow the post against Cinci. Wasn't he injured at the start of the year too? A healthy Marshall will do very good things for us this year. (we're all hoping!) If the price is right... I wouldn't mind Keyshawn as a 3rd WR (IF Rod isn't healthy), but keep Marshall at number 2 so he can show what he's capable of. |

Javon and Brandon are really the same kind of player. Big, physical, great ball skills, great after the catch. They need to be 1a and 1b. That actually opens both of them up for more big plays. It gonna be a fun year - without Keyshawn! |

If Rod is healthy, no point in the move. If the hip is going to plague him all season, Keyshawn would be an excellent option as the #2/#3 WR.

Dude Keyshawn would be our 3rd option and they would only bring him in if rod and stokley are not healthy. Marshal is the No.2 reciever on this team people shouldn't freak out about this if it happens it only makes the team better he is a proven quantity and would be an asset.

That's the way I see it too....if Rod's healthy no point, but if Rod's not then Keyshawn fills the wily possession WR role well. |

I'm of the opinion that if we have the caproom (which we do) and no other player becomes available at a position of need and they can help us bring Keyshawn in. Far too many questionmarks over Rod and Stokley's health at this point. Worst case scenario if we go into the regular season with Kircus at 3 we'll be hoping for a lot from our TE's and running game.

We don't need Keyshawn and especially not for his salary (repeatedly demanded he won't play for less then 2 mil per season).
We have Rod and Stokley to play #3 WR and either one will do the job very nicely IMO. The small improvement from bringing Meshawn onboard does not outweigh the negatives from his impact on team chemistry. You honestly think he won't hesitate to throw a young QB under the bus given the chance? |

Thats just it I'm not sure its a matter of Keyshawn>Rod because Rod might be done. There is alot going on where we might not even see Rod this year, in which case Keyshawn would be an excellent fit. Only the coaching staff truly knows at this point. If we get keyshawn I'd expect Rod's retirement announcement soon thereafter.
