Default News on our walking wounded?/mini camps open sans Denver/Houston

While almost all teams will be having their mini camps started or about to start soon. Kubiak waits till mid june, and Shanahan packs it up right next to training camp a week away in July. Latest mini camp in the NFL by far. So we get to gut it out.

From what Ii can make out, he doesn't want to repeat himself and believes the youngin's will sieve out and he has to start all over. I like the approach. It's almost like 3 extra days of full training camp to get everyone's mind set.

So we get to gut it out for another 3 months.

Second, does anyone have news about how our walking wounded, i.e. Rod, Fox, Brandon, Cecil, HIXON ect. are progressing? It's tighter than a clam about them right now.

Q: Could you give us an update on the progress of injured Broncos? I've heard less about Sam Brandon than anyone else, but what about (Nick) Ferguson, Hixon, (Matt) Lepsis, (Cecil) Sapp and (Brandon) Stokley? Is (Adam) Meadows still struggling with nagging injuries?

A: Training camp will tell the true tale, but Shanahan said before the draft that all of the injured players were recovering well enough that the Broncos wouldn't have to adjust their draft plans to account for those players.
Stokley won't be full speed until later in the offseason, but is supposed to be ready by training camp. Brandon, Ferguson and Lepsis are, according to Shanahan, expected to be ready by training camp as well.
All of the players are currently participating in the team's offseason conditioning work at some level.
That said, they were concerned at least some by their depth at tackle and Meadows' hamstring troubles this past season to use a third-round pick on Notre Dame tackle Harris. With Erik Pears' move to right tackle, Harris will already be Lepsis' backup on the left side when he formally arrives for workouts.

Ugg. That could be anything short of an iron lung or power scooter.

I don't give a crap about Brandon Stokley! If Manning couldn't make him look good why will Cutler?

STFU...I haven't heard anything out of your piehole since you came here that wasn't stupid. If you can't do more than insult, it's coming back in your face, and not as good as I could bring it.

Gayton Manning is just a mere mortal....surely no comparison to Jay Cutler: Destroyer of Worlds.

Look at Prince Peyton. Pathetic. What a fag. Probably about ready to b**** out his OL again.

Thanks for stating the obvious, Javon.

No wonder Stokley came here. Who wouldn't want to play with Rocket Man?

The one thing I need to talk about is that "Ect." is wrong it should be Etc. Not being a smartass but I used to do it the other way until an English professor got a hold of my paper so I thought I would pass that on.

Back on topic. The injured will heal.

Hixon is one of the biggest question marks for this year, I think. I've heard great things about him and I'm really looking forward to seeing what he can do. I think we'll have to wait until folks actually see em at camps to see who's really doing what. As was previously said, participating to some degree could be going through routes on a power scooter... noone ever actually puts out good info these days, it seems.

Yeah and we all heard great things about Tonveissa(sp) and Browner too. I don't even really look for Hixon to ever amount to much in Denver.

Even the rosy picture of Lepsis raises an eyebrow with the first day drafting of Harris.

At least they are saying Lepis is "progressing well" but we shall see. Harris is a good pass blocker at least.

Yeah well, Lepsis backup (Pears) is moving to the other side. So there was a need for Denver to draft a tackle but you never know. I would think he shouldn't have any problem. OL usually don't have a problem coming back from knee injuries. I don't think it matters if his 40 time is affected.

We can hope anyway.

I don't mean to make this an attack but why go to a message board and then ignore folks just because you don't want to read what they say? If I don't want to read what someone says, I go fishing. If I want to read what they say, I come on a message board. There's the obvious exceptions such as folks insulting instead of conversing but, for the most part, it seems folks like to ignore too much and it confuses me.

Edit: Also, not saying you actually do ignore Mock. I'm sure you're just joking. That's just one of my usual gripes and I decided to ask since someone mentioned ignores.

I like it because I have to scroll Less. Plus I don't get sucked into Irrational Arguments as I am prone to do.

You only get just so many concussions ... and we need him healthy for 15-18 years.

Well I blame the Concussion Maker on that. Foster cant find his butt with 2 hands much less block. I am so glad we are redoing the right side of the line.
