Default Vick might really be in trouble

Report: Michael Vick Bought Syringes for Fighting Dogs

Posted May 4th 2007 6:44PM by Michael David Smith
Filed under: Falcons, NFL Gossip, NFL Rumors, Atlanta, NFL Police Blotter
Mary Kay Mallonee, a reporter for the television station WAVY, has been investigating the Michael Vick dog-fighting story, and in a radio interview today, she described Vick's property as "a huge operation" where investigators found blood-soaked carpeting and wounded dogs.

And perhaps the most damaging news for Vick is that Mallonnee interviewed employees of a store near Vick's property and reported:

"There's a store nearby and the clerks there said, 'Yeah, he comes in here often to buy supplies, lots of supplies, for the dogs, including things like syringes.'"

I don't know what Vick would be doing with syringes for dogs, but I can't imagine that it would be good. There's still a lot we don't know about this case, but what we do know indicates that Vick knew a property he owned was being used as a dog-fighting compound.

Meanwhile, the Humane Society is citing Vick as well as other NFL players past and present in telling commissioner Roger Goodell that he his league has a serious problem with dog fighting and cruelty to animals. This is very bad for Vick and for the NFL.

I'm glad that douche is finally getting some real heat and may, for the first time, face some real consequences.

Stay down, B!tch.

Yeah, this story isn't going anywhere but bad. I hope the NFL looks at this as criminal conduct. The guy has something wrong with him if he enjoys watching pit bulls rip each other up.

Hey, you can't expect Mike to know what's going on at a property he owns.

You can't expect him to know why he's buying syringes.

You can't expect him to know what his family is doing in houses he lets them live in.

Get off his back. This is clearly just a big pile-on. You people just love a pile-on.

It's a shame to see him allow this type of thing be associated with him name in any fashion. My question is what other NFL players are associated. That many dogs? I would like to see more facts presented.

Everybody here knows how much I love and value animals so this comes as a particular disappointment that something like this could go undetected.

He's been caught in stone cold obviously blatant lie(s). You think Goodell is going to string him up? You ain't seen nuthin' yet. PETA is on his ass now and they won't let go till they get their pound of flesh. They make Pit Bulls look feeble...they will lock down on him worse than any pitbull. They live for this stuff. Maybe they will be worth something this time.

The syringes could of been used for a multitude of things including steroids, anti-biotics for wounds, euthenasia. I can't wait till they uncover the graveyard. That's what I would be doing, it's got to be there somewhere...I doubt they were smart enough to get the dead ones off the property.

His gloss has vaporized and the talking heads are swimming away from their Golden Idol faster than you can say "Abandon Ship"!

That doesn't matter because it proves he went to the property. Why didn't his cousin come in for them then? I'm not on you Cutt, it's just that this proves he knew what was going on.

Lyiing sack of dog ****. Like I said, they were probably used for several things. He's such an idiot he didn't even give his cousin the money to get the stuff.

He's hung himself.

This a felony issue and likely be a pergury issue. I'm not a dog person, altho if I lived on the farm I would have one.

I was watching Golic at the Downs eating Pork "man sickles" as he grabbed a bone, but that's what they are for...food. Farmers don't mistreat their livestock as a general rule, and certainly not for amusement.

I'm staying up to see if ESPN even reports this in half an hour.

My wife and I are the owners, more like the mother & father, of two wonderful animals- a beautiful bronco orange (well, sort of) feline, and a black AKC Doberman. Animal lovers will understand that pets are like family to folks who care. It is indespicable to us that anyone would treat animals with cruelty or negligence. Our pets are extremely intelliegent, loyal beings, and like most animal lovers, we treat them with respect and kindness, as we do our own children.

If Vick really is guilty of either knowing of, allowing or participating in animal cruelty or negligence, HE SHOULD BE FINED AND SUSPENDED BY THE NFL to the fullest extent of Commissioner Goodell's "laws" of conduct, IMO!!

Agreed...it's also true that animals will behave as they are treated, especially rather sentient pets like dogs and cats.

Beezer is rather bi-polar...he goes into good kitty/bad kitty modes, but bad kitty just is playfull. He's in bad kitty mode right now...heh.

I'm reminded of dad bringing home a puppy or even pony and saying "Now you have to take responibility for your pet" and the kid loses interest faster than a christmas toy.

They should fine Vick to the maximum and imprison him as well.

They also should take the 1.5M in Crips drug money and put it in the anti-gang unit and some to the Rev.

I agree with you. Vick is too much of a high profile athlete and the Falcons organization would claim they would go bankrupt with Vick on the bench for a year. With Schaub out of town the Falcons organization is solely placed on Vicks back. No way does Vick get punished.

I think this has gone beyond caring what Vick brings to the NFL. This whole thing has now put a smear on the NFL as a whole. I don't think Goodell is going to care how stupid the Falcons were with their QB position. Let's just say he better not.

Even without all the stuff he has done and if he was squeaky clean I wouldn't want this guy anywhere near my offense if I was a Falcon fan.

The guy has been living off his hype and being one of the NFL's golden boys in terms of marketing and merchandising and now it's finally catching up to him. With the water bottle incident and now this thing with the dogs getting worse and worse and just for being a horrible QB the NFL should just make him sit for a few games.

Deliberate and malicious cruelty to animals is near the lowest rung me. Worse than armed robbery, drug trafficing, breaking and entering. Worse than just about anything I can think of that doesn't involve women or children.

Goodell has to punish Vick to some extent because of the strong pimp hand he showed Pacman and Chris Henry. He cannot show bias in who he punishes. Vick has been toeing the line for a while and it looks like he crossed it in a big way. I look for him to get punished pretty severely in the near future.

Arthur Blank has to be crapping his Home Depot panties.
