Default Chiefs Trade Ryan Sims

I was wondering what they were going to do with McBride and Tyler being brought in.

Chiefs Trade DT Ryan Sims to Tampa Bay
May 01, 2007, 1:45:53 PM

Kansas City Chiefs President Carl Peterson announced on Tuesday that the club traded DT Ryan Sims to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for an undisclosed future draft pick.

Sims (6-4, 315) played in 59 games (36 starts) in five seasons with Kansas City. He recorded 149 tackles (79 solo), 5.0 sacks (-22.0 yards), 36 QB pressures, an interception, one pass defensed, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. He also played in two postseason contests (one start). The Spartanburg, South Carolina native started all 16 games in 2003, totaling a career-high 83 tackles (41 solo), 3.0 sacks (-13.0 yards), seven QB pressures, a forced fumble, one fumble recovery and an interception. He originally entered the NFL as the Chiefs first-round draft choice in 2002.

Sims saw action in 43 games (33 starts) as a three-year starter at North Carolina. He finished his collegiate career with 167 tackles (83 solo), 14.0 sacks (-87.0 yards), 28.0 tackles for loss, 11 passes defensed, 40 QB pressures and a fumble recovery. He was a first-team all-state, all-region and all-area selection as a senior at Paul M. Dorman High School in Spartanburg, South Carolina.

Prolly held the trade off till today so the chorf fans wouldn't learn they only get a conditional fourth or something. lol

A conditional 4th? If we got anything more than a couple used jock straps then Tampa got ripped off.

They would be very lucky to get a fourth. If they get more then a sixth they bent tampa bay over.

Sad thing is that the chiefs traded up from 8 to 6 to get this guy, and then when Minny ran out of time they nearly killed themselves trying to hurry up and get to the podium to draft him. Yet another example of why evaluating drafts early is bogus.

I'm surprised this thread hasn't received more play. Didn't the Chiefs select Simms #6 overall? Talk about a COMPLETE BUST. Julius Peppers made Simms millions.

I would **** someone's Grandma if we got a 4th for that lazy piece of crap. For all that Peterson has done wrong he deserves a Congressional Medal for being able to get any kind of pick for Ryan Simms.

CP is what he is...I am ready for the next thing. But I believe there are points in his career where he did the job he was responsible for and the teams on the field just ****ed it up.

Trent? Lots of ins and outs...depends on who you talk to.

Carl is holding firm that he wants a 4th for him...the Dolphins have held at 6 (I believe) and there is no squirming. I believe they are holding out that we will just cut him and they can sweep him up for nothing. We have the cap space to keep him prob will at this point rather than let him walk for nothing. I don't see why they can't cook something up based on his play somewhere else...did you get him and let him sit on the bench? Give us a 6th or 7th...was Green your starting QB all year...give us a 3 or 4. I am not an armchair GM...I just like the football but I bet he stays in KC.

Carl is already down off of his #2 demands. If Green was 4 years younger a 4 would be good but at this point a 6 is about his value.

If Green was 5 years younger he'd be worth a 1st.

If Elway was 10 years younger he would still be playing & winning SB's.

Too bad he is not.

Can't wait for his autobiography. "How Julius Peppers Made Me Rich".

Worst top 10 pick ever. I mean, who didn't realize the guy just lived off teams running from the best collegiate DE of his era?

CP sure stuck it to the Buccaneers…

Clayton reports Sims was traded for a conditional 7th round pick.
