In addition to trying for Randy Moss, the Broncos had chances to trade for Carolina defensive tackle Kris Jenkins and Eagles running back Ryan Moats on draft weekend but declined to pursue the deals. ... While the Broncos dealt next year's third-round pick to Minnesota, they will have an extra fourth-round pick - from Washington, as part of the Ashley Lelie trade. ... Shanahan said Sauerbrun likely will go to training camp as the favorite to be the holder on field goals and extra- point kicks. Quarterback Jay Cutler also can hold. ... Kansas State defensive tackle Quintin Echols signed as an undrafted free agent with Indianapolis. Echols and Darrent Williams were close friends, and he was a pallbearer at Williams' funeral.

Like I said, when your player is that good and 31 teams would want him, none make a single move, someone's gotta be asking too much. We didn't want to deal with Moss either b/c of the money.
Would've been nice to think about a Denver team w/ Jenkins and Moss though . |

Carolina probably asked for way too much for a guy who has had some serious injuries in recent years. Plus I don't think we could afford him. With the Al Wilson and Plummer contract hits, we should be playing close to the cap for the next couple of years.

Jenkins would have been nice. Hopefully our gamble with Thomas pays off. First round talent for a 3rd and some change is a good gamble imo.

they probably wanted a first rounder and jenkins would of wanted a huge contract with a large signing bonus and guaranteed money.

Not quite. In fact, we should be well below the cap next year with Al's contract gone.

And, it's about time we had some dynamite D-line youngsters under cheap contracts. We have had a really hard time developing D-line talent. If we get the development down (Like Carolina, Jacksonville, Baltimore) we can afford to let them go when they ask for the moon. Kind of like running backs. |
