So simply based on potential and needs, who had the best draft? Obviously it's hard to tell till they get on the field, but what's the fun in that.

I think Cleveland had the best draft. To land two franchise calibre players who will be starters this season and a foundation to build around is significant. Nobody advanced their team any further than Cleveland did this weekend, at least on paper.

Cleveland, obviously, but I really like what Atlanta did, too.

I like Atlantas as well.
Anderson is an improvement over Kerney IMO, and Blalock is an absolute beast at OG. Houston next to Hall is going to be a very good CB duo for many years to come IMO. But Cleveland getting Thomas and Quinn puts them over the top. But the real possible steal for them is Wright if he can shake the character baggage. So I guess the real question should be, how would you rank the top 10 best drafts? |

Buffalo did an a good job as well IMO, assuming Lynch is on his best behavior.
Posluszny was a great pick in Rd 2. Hes a Day 1 starter at linebacker. Edwards will be a solid backup and will push JP Losman. |

I agree with all the love for Cleveland. I still can't believe Miami passed on Quinn.
I know they got Beck in the 2nd, but still... |

I thought that Cleveland, Carolina, Atlanta, Minnesota, and SF had pretty good drafts. I guess I would say Carolina had the best draft as of right now.
Carolina picked late and still came away with 3-4 potential starters in Beason, Jarrett, Kalil, and Charles Johnson. Ryne Robinson and Tim Shaw were good Day 2 picks for them. The Browns got a potential franchise LT and a potential franchise QB. Minnesota drafted a slew of good players in Peterson, Sidney Rice, Marcus McCauley, Brian Robinson, Aundrae Allison, and Rufus Alexander. The 49ers got Patrick Willis, Joe Staley, and Jason Hill while trading for Darrell Jackson. Atlanta got Jamaal Anderson, Blalock, and Chris Houston. All potential starters. |

49ers did well, getting Willis (beast MLB) and Staley (desperately needed a T). If we're counting trades, getting Darrell Jackson by giving up just a 4th round pick was a steal. Jackson, and Battle at receiver while giving an improved Alex Smith better protection ain't too shabby.
Miami looked suspicious at first but ended up going well overall. Ginn Jr. and Beck help the offense. They then added a C & RB I don't know too much about, but they were persistent with targeting their weakness. Bills did well by addressing the two big holes that opened up for them this offseason. Still need a O-Line however. Cowboys picking up a 1st rd pick next year (from the consistent worst 10 team Browns) was huge. Ending up with Spencer and a 08 1st rd pick was something Cowboy fans are probably thrilled with. I was saddened since it could've been the Broncos to do this. SF, totally. Their receiving corps went from a dramatic weakness to an extremely strongpoint in two days. DJack will be 1, Hill will be 2, and Lelie will be 3. Excellent.

Buffalo is my vote. I can't endorse the Browns because I think that Quinn isn't that great.

I'd say that Carolina had the best draft of the teams not drafting in the top 14 picks. Outside of that, I love what the 49'ers did. They got 4-5 starters if Tarrel Brown doesn't get arrested for something new in the next few days...

You know a lot of teams really did well with their drafts. This was a draft where there weren't a lot of losers - except Oakland; They're always losers.

San Francisco, Cleveland, Dallas, and Atlanta.
The Raiders did well but management will cloud the end result. Miami picks up Ginn? Why? Broncos did great but I hope they don't go back to that well too often. Once is for attitude and twice is a bad trend. |

I'm pretty impressed with the Colts draft...I think Anthony Gonzalez might be the best WR in the draft after Calvin Johnson. Quinn Pitcock in the 3rd round is the type of DT they badly needed. Every guy they took after that were outstanding athletes with speed and explosive verticals. I think they are going to come away from this draft with several nice contributors.
